Hysteria mounting…

Two months to go and the media is already shrill and losing that thin veneer of sophistication and intelligence. The mask they’ve been wearing,  the oh so haughty attitude of elitism, is finally coming down. They criticized Mitt Romney for “partying while black people are  drowning”. But, he isn’t the President. The real one was out campaigning and ignoring Governor Jindal while he asked for relief for his state. It was the same during the BP oil spill, when even James Carville was begging Obama to “do something, we’re dying down here”. But, Obama was on vacation and had no inclination to shorten it even when people were begging him for help. This is who the left wants to be re-elected? This is the man they think deserves to stay in office and will help the poor? No, the left is all about power, not governing. They claim “moral authority” and the high ground but, when holding absolute power in Congress and the White House from 2008 to 2010, they did more to fatten their purses and wallets then helping the American people. All their taxes, rules and regulations and, executive orders have done more to hurt the middle classes and the poor then anything passed in the last three decades. The CBC, and other members of Congress, are horrified that our objective is to rid ourselves of Obama, we must be a bunch of rightwing racists. We’re hearing that from the media as well. I’ve got news for them, ridding this country of the biggest mistake it has made since Carter governed isn’t racist, it’s smart and to our advantage. We’re tired of being depressed. We’re tired of thuggish government. We’re just tired of them all.

As a country, we have done more good in this world than we’re being credited for doing. The sons and daughters of this wonderful country fought to be free of the yoke of oppression. The sons and daughters of this country fought two World Wars and freed Europe from the yoke of oppression. The sons and daughters of this country go to work everyday, pay taxes, to keep the Fed and State and Muni employees employed. We are the ones who give aid to the world, not the government. It is our money and our country and, we are going to take it back because we built it, our sons and daughters died for it, you broke it, and we’ll fix it. It belongs to “we the people” not you the government.

  1. HuffPo trying its best to slime my Governor…intimating he is a racist by misquoting him.

    • srdem65

Racist, racist, is all they have left. It’s sickening and it’s tearing us apart.
They’re not going to win this by making people feel guilty, or trying to be the thought police.
I can’t remember any time in America where one’s opinion was so villified.

      • We have a good Governor, an honest man…. unemployment is down in OH because of him (7.2%), a balanced budget, and major changes happening in the school system.
Now the left has got me really riled up. What they don’t say is Dems and Repubs voted out the last Governor (Strickland) and voted for Kasich. It really was bi-partisanship.

      • domanii

Srdem65, people are not feeling guilty anymore. The left has used the racist card at every turn and it doesn’t mean anything anymore. There’s even some idiot in some Dept of something that says the saying “hold down the fort” is racist. He THINKS it means scalp the Cherokees or something stupid like that. He doesn’t even have facts yet he calls it racist.

    • The Original

HuffPO should never be considered as journalism.

      • They slammed my Governor, it’s on now! The problem is this will be picked up by other media and used to discredit him. He doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment. HuffPo is a rag, but their dunderheaded readers think they’re the last word in journalism.

  2. McConnell schools the media hacks…watch it all 😀

    • sportinlife10

That was cool. It’s the first time I’ve seen him as a knowledgeable leder who isn’t intimidated or mess around.

  3. and this…create a false narrative, treat those who disagree with disdain and hate…this is what “opinion makers” (ie; the media) have done.

As described by Glenn Reynolds in a classic 2002 essay, a preference cascade occurs when people trapped inside a manufactured consensus suddenly realize that many other people share their doubts. Preference falsification works by making doubters feel isolated and alone. In a totalitarian society, the dissenter fears that if he speaks up, his will be a lone voice, easily squashed by the enforcers of the regime. When dissenters realize they are not alone, and the true strength of their numbers becomes apparent, “invincible” regimes vanish with astonishing speed.

The same effect can occur without brutal oppression, when fear of ostracism and ridicule cause people to suppress their own doubts. This kind of preference falsification requires strict discipline from the makers of opinion.

  4. False and negative narratives by media paint a different picture …one we are seeing is based on reality…their narrative is failing and the biased media and pols are flailing…everything is fake now

As we watch the news covering a story, what we are actually watching is the media making up a story and then telling that story incessantly and embedding it in every nook and cranny of their coverage. This blurring of the lines between the real and the fake is not happening thanks to the magic of technology, but the prosaic methods of complete insincerity.

The fake is being overlaid on the real, like men fighting on top of a board with a movie of a train passing by in the background to give the impression that they are fighting on top of it. Such cheap trickery defines our media environment where reporters barge into events and badger the participants into playing along with their movie. Or they just play the clip of actual events and frame them so that everyone hears their version of what is going on.

  5. The “branding” of Obama …..not anything substantive…that’s what got him elected to the highest office

The branding of American politics worked the same way. Obama was not sold as a set of positions and a track record, but as a brand. A brand that people were encouraged to feel enthusiastic about or at least comfortable with, using the same techniques that were used to sell soft drinks. Cheerful posters, meaninglessly simple slogans, celebrities, theme songs, merchandise, social media, viral videos, fonts, color schemes, logos and everything else that goes into pushing a billion dollar product from the shelves to the kitchen.

I watche a couple news programs this morning…DavidAxelrod and RahmEmanuel were guests. No matter what the interviewer asked Axelrod, he said the same thing a dozen different way; Repubs have no plan and Obama is working hard. No specifics, just fluff.

Rahm Emanuel was a hoot. He parroted some of the same things as Axelrod but was put on the spot about the killing streets of his city. His reply? it’s not as bad as it used to be…….my goodness, what an answer, what a thing to say to the families of those wounded and killed in his city. “it could have been worse”??

Drudge’s headline is showing that MrRomney is pulling away from BO. I think it will level out some after the Dem convention if they can put on a decent show or Romney will poll out over 50% and BO will be in the low 40’s.

      • srdem65

ok. I’ve apparently lost my ability to spell, punctuate and the formula for good grammar.
I’m blaming it on the Dems making me crazy.

        • LOL :D… Had to correct some of my post too. Still not sure if it’s readable.. 😀

  6. Fact checking the media…number one priority

[…]AP isn’t going to change: just today they joined with the Huffington Post to report that Mitt Romney had told a flood victim in Louisiana just to call 211, and refused to report the entire conversation, which had the victim saying:
“He’s good, he’ll do the best for us, he has our best interests at heart. I thought he’d be more like a politician, but it was more understanding and caring. He was caring.”[…]

    • When Romney says he can lead us to a recovery, and that our country will return to prosperity, I believe him.

      • I also believe him. He has quiet strength. The “great orator” doesn’t hold a candle to Romney when it comes down to it.

        • Lynn, you were one of his earliest supporters during the primaries and you represented him well here. Told you we’d all come together and rally behind the last man standing 😀

          • 😀 Yes, you did tell me that!

  7. Monday is “empty chair day”…. LOL 😀

  8. Carole

I have decided that I cannot watch the DNC. When Obama came on TV the other night I found myself screaming, nasty name calling and profanity at him. It hit me I was using some words that I never use because they indicate hateful attitudes. The Obamas upset me to no end with their elitist, self-importance and their out and out hate of America as a leader of democracy and savior of many countries that would have been devoured by evil socialist/nationalist/communistic ideologie and dictatorships. The media paints a picture of Americans adoring Moo. Yet, in connversations with others, they make fun of her outfits, think she is a phony money grabbing (the word the rhyms with witch), and is the power behind Obama and would cut any one’s throat to get her way. I will just wait to see what the birdies say about the DNC because I know I would be an absolute nut cake after watching Dim-o-cats stand up at a podium making asshats out of themselves and lying their rotten souls out for a man that is a complete phony,a bafoon, cheat, racist, liar, socialist, narcisist, bath house joyrider, photo op husband and father, and dishonorable commander and chief of a brave and valient armed forces. I better stop, I can feel my blood pressure ready to explode!!!!!!

    • Not to worry, I’ll watch for you….then …. you know the rest. 🙂

    • The Original

I don’t plan on watching any of it. My blood would boil pretty quickly.

  9. Tell me this isn’t one of the most disgusting political signs you have ever seen…in L.A.

    • srdem65

Yes. Whatever, I don’t expect any class or anything from the Obots.

    • Sad. Says so much about his supporters. All they care about is race. I had hoped they would see beyond skin color by now.

  10. It’s gonna get ugly in Charlotte. I hope the people of that good city are prepared.

“Activists, police plan for big protests at Democratic convention”–finance.html

    • srdem65

The irony here is that all of the protesting groups are Dem affiliated. The dancing vulgar you-know-whats, the poopy-head OWS, the Raza group and every flaming gay person who wants to get married will be there.

      • not to forget the anarchists, communists, anti-war demos… stuff

        • sportinlife10

          …better them than us.
I still feel sorry for the cops.

  11. Carole

I love Michelle’s Mirror today. It nailed my sentiments about Obutt right on the head.

  12. My arm is getting tired waving the BS flag so much lately.

“‘I have no social life’: Obama says he spurns parties so he can eat dinner with daughters and help with homework”

    • Usually the DM is pretty accurate…but come on! “BO has played golf 32 times since taking office”?? Hardly…it’s over 104!! I did love the comments. One poor sucker stood up for him and got red arrowed big time.:)

      • Reader’s comments are turned off… LOL 😀

    • The girls have been at camp for a month…BS is right!

  13. Says it all…yes indeed
“President Barack Obama ignored a request to tour flood damage in Sioux City, Iowa, last summer, City Councilman Keith Radig said in a radio appearance. Obama chose not to visit the area the Missouri River flooded last summer, Radig added, and is only going to speak at the city’s Morningside College at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday because he’s in desperate need of votes against Mitt Romney ahead of November’s election.

“You could kind of describe Obama as a fair weathered friend — he’s one that’s only there when he needs something from you,” Radig said. “But when we needed his leadership, he was nowhere to be found. In the Midwest we are hardworking and determined. We are tired of struggling due to the Obama policies.”

Radig added that when five congressmen wrote to Obama last summer asking him for help and to visit the damaged area, he declined, instead campaigning on other side of Iowa.”

  14. The Parade Magazine interview, and what’s with MO’s knee resting on BO’s naughty parts 😉

    • Gak! I did read it all the way to the end. So, the Wee Wons “turned out okay”. Does this mean that MO no longer sees a need to parent her 11 and 14 year old girls? What a bunch of BS!!

      • Did you see the Romneys’ interview last week? It’s linked at the bottom of that page. The comparison between the Fakes and Real People are amazing. Also the questions to the Romneys weren’t such softballs either.

I think that 6:30 dinner is hooey. They never seem to be at home together much less sit down and eat together.

        • Hooey is right! They don’t hang around the White House often enough to have dinner at 6:30 every night. Too many outings, paycayshuns, partaays and planning them. Bunch of BS..

  15. I used your picture…can you tell me when/where it was taken…my followers want to know 🙂

    • Romney/Ryan rally in Jacksonville. From readers at Instapundit who attended.

    • I’m in OH too, welcome to the nest! 🙂

    • then he won’t mind this either….. LOL 😀

      • We should stick a Romney sign in the empty chair !

        • My chair is on the front porch and will be on the walkway in the front tomorrow morning…I’m taping the empty chair hope sign to mine…LOL 😀
Saved it to print in the morning. “Alinsky works for us now”–MOTUS

    • “last night I saw upon the stair,
a little man who wasn’t there
      he wasn’t there again today,
oh, how I wish he’d go away”

  16. Make sure you read Clarice Feldman at American Thinker

  17. srdem65

OT; it’s Sunday and it’s too hot outside so I’m bored.
I watch a “hoarding” show and up pops a promo for a new series about a girl with two heads and one for Honey Boo Boo. I feel like I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole and don’t know where I am.

  18. Hysteria mountaining indeed … LOL !
