We did not choose this…

Our country is now being run by pettiness and, greedy men and women. Is this who we are? Listen to them, are they really saying what you are thinking? Or, is it just more hyperbole to stay in power? Do you honestly think, even for a second, the people who feel big government is a detriment to our country are Nazis? Do you, as independent thinkers, honestly think government changes society for the better or, is it the people who do that? Listening to the speeches at the DNC disheartened me greatly. The speakers spoke as if our society would collapse and we would be taken back to the 1800s if Mitt Romney were elected. It was the most dishonest spectacle and, an embarrasment for everyone of us, both left and right.  Some columnists called it a “fantasy world”, it isn’t.  The Progs occupy a place filled with darkness, ugliness, and fear. Their leaders are small puny people with enlarged egos that fear losing control and power. They remind me more of the Salem witch hunters of the 1500s then the “Forward” 21st century thinkers they claim to be. Their dire predictions should give every American pause for thought. Does anyone think for one moment women will be denied health care or the right to vote? Do minorities really believe they will be put in chains and become slaves?  The whole world is watching us, what we say and do matters. Words matter, and their words are not justifiable. Their words are petty and small, diminishing all of us and our country and, the great strides we have made as a people. Do the politicians and media personalities who accuse their countrymen of racism over policy differences or, call their fellow citizens Nazis, really have our best interests in mind? I don’t think they do. We are watching a meltdown of the Progressives because they fear losing power and control over the populace. Obama keeps asking us “Who do we want to be?”, “What kind of country do we want to be?”.  My answer to him is this simple; Not a people or a country based on your politics of divisivness, intolerance and hatred. That is not who we should want, or strive, to be.

  1. YEP, not too long ago Dowd went there too…this is a brilliant journalist?
” But he’s just a fresh face on a Taliban creed — the evermore antediluvian, anti-women, anti-immigrant, anti-gay conservative core. Amiable in khakis and polo shirts, Ryan is the perfect modern leader to rally medieval Republicans who believe that Adam and Eve cavorted with dinosaurs.”

  3. ‘Mexico detains man accused in “Fast and Furious” gun-running killing’

    Hallelujah!!!

    http://news.yahoo.com/mexico-detains-man-accused-fast-furious-gun-running-030319793.html

    • But, will he be extradited….and it sure doesn’t exonerate the US gunrunning DOJ..

      • It’s a start. Right now, that’s all I can hope for.

  4. http://hotair.com/archives/2012/09/08/surprise-hhs-pilot-program-to-send-2-million-poor-seniors-from-medicare-into-voucher-programs/

What a liar BO is about everything he says…
[…]In his convention speech in Charlotte, President Obama vowed to block the Republican Medicare reform plan because “no American should ever have to spend their golden years at the mercy of insurance companies.”

But back in Washington, his Health and Human Services Department is launching a pilot program that would shift up to 2 million of the poorest and most-vulnerable seniors out of the federal Medicare program and into private health insurance plans overseen by the states.

The administration has accepted applications from 18 states to participate in the program, which would give states money to purchase managed-care plans for people who are either disabled or poor enough to qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. HHS approved the first state plan, one for Massachusetts, last month.[…]

There’s something not right about this story. Not your telling of it, but the ‘disabled or too poor’. The only qualification that I know of for being covered by Medicare is that you worked a certain number of weeks/years and that you are 65 years old. There is no means test for Medicare, you get it whether you were a waitress or a millionaire CEO. So what are they talking about…”too poor”?

  5. GM “escrow account” is TARP funds….read it and tell me where the truth lies.
[…]GM… still owes more than half the $50 billion in federal funds it received when the combination of the recession and its costly union contracts drove it into bankruptcy. And its lending arm, GMAC (now Ally Financial), still owes $14.5 billion.

What’s worse, it’s not clear that GM actually repaid what it’s gotten credit for repaying. Check out this note buried in the inspector’s report: “As part of a credit agreement with Treasury, $16.4 billion in TARP funds were placed in an escrow account that GM could access only with Treasury’s permission.”

As it turns out, GM got Treasury’s OK to “repay” more than $6.7 billion “using a portion of the escrow account that had been funded with TARP funds.” So GM is merely paying the government back with government money, not money GM is earning selling cars, as the administration has claimed.

Worse, GM in effect is still borrowing money. Consider this item from the report: ‘What remained in escrow was released to GM.’ Bottom line: Taxpayers have not been paid back and are still on the hook as GM continues to require government help. Yet Obama has hailed the GM bailout as the signature achievement of his big government programs.[…]

  6. Pathetic racist lies perpetuated by a man who knew real racism. No self respect, none at all.

“Rep. John Lewis used his Thursday convention speech to argue that a GOP victory in November will send African-Americans back to the early 1960s, when he and other Africans-Americans were forcibly denied access to restaurants, public transportation and the ballot box.”

    • There are lies and there are damned lies.

GM and China. Very scary, very scary indeed!

  8. Don’t mention “food stamp” recipients have climbed…. it’s racist…but, an awful lot of “white” people are the beneficiaries (mostly from the close to defunct middle class)

“The media’s been even worse with Barack Obama. Not only have the homeless vanished from news coverage, but so have America’s poor. But as NBC’s David Gregory made clear, if you even try to bring up the record number of food stamp recipients Barack Obama’s failed policies have created, you’ll be labeled a racist.

What is a cold, hard fact, though, is that in the last accounting available to us (May), America’s food stamp rolls increased by 173,000. In the last jobs numbers available to us (August), only 96,000 new jobs were created.”[…]

    http://weaselzippers.us/2012/09/08/obamanomics-173k-new-food-stamp-recipients-vs-96k-new-jobs/

  9. “Unemployment numbers. (Carney) said: “We know most people (are) not sitting at home clicking refresh on the BLS website,” they’re instead concerned with their own practical problems at home, including employment but not limited to it.

Carney instead sought to switch the focus from Friday’s disastrous employment report, which showed the economy only created 96,000 jobs, to the the fact that job creation remains in positive territory, even is it generally has lagged behind the numbers needed to keep up with population growth.”
    http://www.whitehousedossier.com/

Yeah, paying the mortgage or rent, feeding their families, paying their utilities, paying for gas to look for jobs that aren’t there (most jobs “created” are in low paying, low skilled work) clothing their children…..all of which centers around getting JOBS! Yes, they do think you’re stupid

  10. Mr. Preezy, while you gloat and tell everyone how well off we are in this “recovery”, please explain this one to your mesmerized audience….
“According to new analysis of unemployment data by the National Employment Law Project, while 60 percent of the jobs lost during the 2008-2009 financial crisis were in middle income occupations, the vast majority – 58 percent – of jobs created under President Obama are low-wage. Those jobs include “retail sales, food preparation, home health and customer service.”’

The photo of BO being lifted off of the floor by someone in a pizza parlor is all over the MSM and the internet.
That photo probably cost BO 2 million union men’s votes. He looks like the sissy, nancy-girly man he is and, wait …I’m searching for words, my goodness, I’m ashamed to say that’s our President.
There also is a photo of JoeBiden with a biker girl sitting on his LAP! IN PUBLIC.
    Have they lost their minds?

  12. Lynn, have missed posting here, a combination of crazy, busy, family obligations, and at bottom, this election has sent me back to reading and long dog walks. But I have been lurking, and wonder if you have read this:http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/charles-krauthammer-the-empathy-gap/2012/09/06/b0ec930a-f85c-11e1-8b93-c4f4ab1c8d13_story.html. The Dem Convention was stomach turning in it’s cynicism and outright lying, the media coverage was even worse.
Now we have the news that O is ahead in Ohio, I cannot believe this of common sense Midwesterners. Is it possible Holder’s suit against Gallup was a warning shot to pollsters ?

    • It’s now at 2 points…the bounce is landing with a dull thud…within the margin of error +/- 4.
If BO was so great, why is he not ahead by 10 or 12? It’s really still a tie. But, I’m betting on Romney to pull it off.

    • I wondered where you were… 🙂
There are times we have to pull back or it would swallow us… When I leave a post up for 2 or 3 days that’s what I’m doing. Covering a lot of ground here can be tedious and hard. But, we have to soldier on. 😀
