First Lady Michelle Obama had sought to speak at a Chesterfield County elementary school during her campaign swing through Virginia today, but county school leaders rejected her request, citing school policy, a Chesterfield supervisor has confirmed.
Congress is rejecting BO‘s overreach on welfare reform. While BO insists he made no changes in the law the GAO found him guilty. Even the President is not above the law.
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI) asked the GAO to review Obama’s rule change, and Hatch accused the Obama administration of thinking it does not have to “live by these Constitutional constraints.” The GAO said Congress must have an opportunity to reject Obama’s rule changes.
Our current administration is just as responsible for the deaths of Ambassador Stevens and his staffers as is the Islamic terrorists. They were warned and took no actions to provide for their safety. The website of the State Dept. plainly states their obligation.
The Secretary of State, and by extension, the Chief of Mission (COM), are responsible for developing and implementing security policies and programs that provide for the protection of all U.S. Government personnel (including accompanying dependents) on official duty abroad. This mission is executed through the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS). Personal and facility protection are the most critical elements of the DS mission abroadas they directly impact upon the Department’s ability to carry out its foreign policy. With terrorist organizations and coalitions operating across international borders, the threat of terrorism against U.S. interests remains great. Therefore, any U.S. mission overseas can be a target even if identified as being in a low-threat environment.
Strength matters, the US has spent enough time groveling in the ME. When the Turkish leader says the US has ” not yet catered” to their “expectations” then I would suggest the US stop “leading from behind” and Obama grow a pair. Yes, in the ME we are seen as weak, even by a NATO ally. While Obama is off partying and campaigning, making tepid statements, the Islamists are gaining ground. We are the laughingstock of the world and our foreign policy is a shambles. Just ask the Turks.
U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey will visit Turkey over the weekend to discuss Syria. The top general said in late August that any broader activities inside Syria would have to be discussed and conducted within the NATO framework. Dempsey’s visit comes after Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the United States “lacked initiative” on Syria and suggested that could be because of the upcoming U.S. election.
“Right now, there are certain things expected of the United States. It has not yet catered to those expectations,” Erdoğan said in a recent interview on CNN International.
Seeking backing from the international community, and particularly from the United Nations, for safety zones and eventual no-fly zones inside Syrian territory, Turkey voiced its disappointment over the lack of action at the latest meeting of the UN Security Council. Ankara is also seeking international aid to cope with the rapidly increasing number of Syrians fleeing violence in their country.
Obama doesn’t deserve to be re-elected, no way, no how. He should be rejected in November.
