Debates and polls

As you all know, tonight Paul Ryan will be debating Joey-B, who has been out of sight for over a week prepping. His handlers say he has to do a great job to get back BO’s mojo (which has been lost since ‘THAT’ debate).  BO keeps saying he had a bad night, in all reality he’s had a bad four years and it keeps getting worse as the campaign moves along. Joey B’s biggest challenge tonight will be numbers, mostly the numbers 16 trillion and 1.1 trillion. Mostly his prep team is focusing on one central theme which will run throughout the debate, keeping Joey B from saying anything stupid.

Being polled is fun! Basically I was asked how likely I would be to vote for Romney if I knew as Governor he had lousy job creation, had the biggest tax hike as Governor on the middle class, believed in tax credits for millionaires and billionaires, and tax credits for businesses moving jobs to foreign countries. While they called it “research”, it seemed like 20 minutes of political push to me. So, now they know that I am all for higher taxes on the middle class, dirty water, dirty air, tax credits for business moving jobs overseas, and tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires. The wording of the questions was so devious and, the partisan lean was so apparent to be laughable. The one shot I did get in was in regard to the Dodd-Frank Bill. Told him the “stress tests” were destroying smaller local banks and the amendment for bailouts in perpetuity for “too big to fail banks” is an affront to the American taxpayers.  I am sure, somewhere in Nevada, there is a “researcher” scratching his head trying to figure it out. Have any of you had the same experience?

In other news;

Social Security Benefits will be raised by 2% in 2013. Along with that hike for cost of living will be a raise in payroll taxes. From Yahoo

This calculation doesn’t only affect those receiving Social Security benefits. It is also used to raise the ceiling on wages subject to payroll taxes. This year’s maximum is $110,100, but a 1.7% increase would subject an additional $1,872 to the 6.2% tax.

So, when Democrats say taxes will not go up on the middle class, they are lying. This does not mean anyone would be against the cost of living raise for seniors but, it would be nice if Congress put back the 2.5 trillion dollars it owes the Social Security Trust Fund which was spent on “other programs”.

BO’s Benghazi-gate fell apart in Congressional hearings yesterday. The testimony was more then damning when “Lt. Col, Andrew Wood, who once headed U.S. security in Libya and testified that there had been serious deficiencies in embassy security, and that it had never been protected with the necessary resources.”

When Mitt Romney stopped to visit with some school children the AP decided to try and embarrass him with a comical picture. Talk about media bias.

Mitt Romney’s motorcade was passing Fairfield Elementary School in Virginia when the Governor saw kids waiving and decided to make a U-turn and pull over. The kids were excited to meet Romney, according reporters on the scene:

“Are you Mitt Romney?” asked one awed student.

“I am Mitt Romney,” he replied. “And that’s your governor. That’s Governor McDonnell.”

“I just saw you on TV!” exclaimed one little girl who was almost overcome with excitement.

As you can see in this ABC video, Romney shook hands with a long line of 4th and 5th graders and got a big “Thank you” when he was done. Sometime before leaving, a member of his staff took this photo:

This was the photo you didn’t see. AP decided to ‘explain’ the reason for their bias, it didn’t work out as well as they thought it would. Kudos to Romney for taking the time to meet with those kids. Tells a lot more about the man and his character and, the character of AP as well.

  1. Piers Morgan and Debbie Downer had a debate…Debbie didn’t like the way it was going… LOL 😀
[…]Debbie Wasseerman Schultz, DNC chair: Piers, it is not okay for you to be saying that the administration was putting out completely false statements. They put out information that they had at the time based on the intelligence that they were given —

Piers Morgan: That turned out to be completely wrong.

Wasserman Schultz: Well that doesn’t mean it was false. It doesn’t mean that it was deliberate. It means that.

Morgan: What?! Now wait a minute. If you put out a false statement, then it’s false, it’s wrong. It’s both of those things.

Wasserman Schultz: But you’re suggesting that it’s … Piers, what you’re suggesting is that it was somehow deliberate.[…]

Just because they all lied doesn’t mean they lied…HUH?

    • srdem65

Just once can they admit they were wrong. “oh, we were wrong about what we believed to be true” and America would say…OK, but be more careful next time.

      • No, they can never, not ever, admit they’re wrong…..doesn’t fit with the ‘messiah, perfect person, he has a halo, and is smarter than anyone on the planet’ meme.

  2. Annie's Mom
    • Watching Baier recite that timeline ticked me off so much. Couldn’t bear to watch anything else about it. Blood pressure skyrocketed….lately I find myself screaming at the Tee Vee LOL 😀

  3. Isn’t this what BO and Chu are hoping for….exorbitant gas prices?

[…]While much attention has been given to the costs of preventive military action against Iran, a new report by the Bipartisan Policy Center shows that, over time, “gasoline prices could increase by more than 70 percent,” sending America “into a severe recession” and costing the country “more than five million” jobs.

“If any of the conflicts or energy disruptions that become more likely from a nuclear Iran actually occur, the energy impact and economic consequences would be more severe,” the report states. “Inflation could skyrocket to almost 5 percent,” leading to widespread job loss.

Authored by a team of former military leaders, economists, and lawmakers, the report examines a handful of scenarios that could result if Iran is permitted to obtain a nuclear weapon. In each outcome, oil and gasoline prices increase exponentially.[…]

The polls say that California is firmly in the tank for Obama and all I think is WTF is wrong with them? Of course, Blacks are still voting for BO and they have been the worst hit of all groups, and I think, how stupid can they be?

Is there anywhere in America where a Dem controlled government is doing well, that isn’t on the brink of bankruptcy or worse or where crime isn’t a daily reality?

      • that’s why CA didn’t report their unemployment numbers to the BLS…

      • Carole

The problem in California is that it has high welfare, food stamp population, high unemployment, huge minority (actually I think Anglos are the minority) areas and is so uninionized by teachers, state, county and federal orginizations that Obama has them in a vise grip. Funny thing is that the Obutts ignored all the minority struggling areas of CA during their visits. The Obutts only hang out with celebs and wealthy people, they would never lower themselves to visit the “hoods” or middle class of CA.

  4. Not to be crass….but did some obscure film cause the death of US embassy security chief in Yemen? How will BO and the LSM spin this one?

    • Carole

Did I notice nylons on Anne? Wow!! So appropriate.

      • srdem65

Yes, Sleeves, not too tight, not too short. She’s not ashamed to wear reading glasses. Her watch face is as large as mine…better to see what time it is.
        OH, I love this woman.

        • sleeves not puckered around her armpits…can laugh at herself….she seems like a lot of fun…

        • Waiting for 2012

No greasy, bare legs! No boob belt! No dirty wighat! No camel toe! Nope, nuthin’ Sasquatchian about this lady!

      • Class act…all the way! 😉

  5. AHA!! we’ve found the anomaly….jigging the unemployment numbers….

  6. The only questions left for BO to answer…”Why the hell haven’t you done anything about the murders of our Americans in Benghazi?
Why did your and your advisors and spokemen incite all the hostility against our Embassies in the ME and Africa?

  7. Solyndra…shell corp….tax avoidance

[…]The Internal Revenue Service urged a bankruptcy judge to reject solar panel maker Solyndra LLC’s bankruptcy plan Wednesday, saying it amounts to little more than an avenue for owners of an empty corporate shell to avoid paying taxes.

“The undeniable conclusion is that tax benefits drive this plan,” attorneys for the IRS wrote in a bankruptcy pleading.

Arguing that the bankruptcy court ought not confirm a plan “whose principal purpose is tax avoidance,” attorneys said in filings in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware that the tax breaks would be worth more money than funds set aside for creditors.

Taxpayers are on the hook for more than a half-billion dollars after the company filed for bankruptcy last year, just two years after winning a loan guarantee from the Department of Energy.

What’s more, government attorneys said that as far back as 2010, Solyndra owners had “planned meticulously” to be able to use Solyndra’s net operating losses to offset future tax liabilities.[…]

  8. Just in case you aren’t aware of this brewing war….Russia and Turkey at each others throats. Turkey and Syria exchanging fire across borders…plane from Russia forced down in Turkey with “illegal cargo”…all hell is going to break loose.
Russia and Syria accuses Turkey of air piracy…

  9. BO has to know about this….he has to
“BEIRUT – Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah acknowledged on Thursday sending a drone aircraft which was shot down last weekend after flying some 25 miles (55 km) into Israel.

Nasrallah said in a televised speech that the drone was Iranian-made, and that it was shot down near the Dimona nuclear reactor.”

    • Annie's Mom

And remember…Romney is also receiving the daily security briefings…

    • srdem65

They’re testing the Israelis. My money is on Israel to win.

  10. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :D…..tinfoil hat crowd
Obama Camp Calls Lib Bloggers the “Tinfoil Hat Crowd”

    • srdem65

Oh. How mean. lol…. They’re going to have to order more buses to throw people under.

      • Is there anyone left that the BO team hasn’t insulted or tossed under the bus? LOL 😀
I am amazed anyone still wants to vote for him….masochistic if they do.

  11. Francine

Watch this video of Biden circa 1988.
All I can say is I hate arrogant loud mouths and that is the way he comes across in this video, blech!

  12. Re: the vp debate.
Ryan has my vote hands down for simply keeping his cool and not barreling his well muscled fist down the throat of Joker Joe.
That old drunk hasn’t uttered a verifiable truth the whole debate, he keeps going on with his schmaltz talk, and grins like a skull on the few times his jaw hasn’t been flapping.
Ryan has numbers, speaks his plans, and somehow, hasn’t decked that snake oil salesman.

    • Annie's Mom

Yep…it was 2 against one…and Ryan held his own. Horrible moderator…

      • call you tomorrow…heading for bed…kids are out of school tomorrow…ACK!!

  13. Waiting for 2012

Biden is rude; he keeps interrupting and thinks that bulldog tactics will bamboozle the listeners into thinking he know what he’s talking about.

    • I feel that I’m at a family St. Patrick’s Day party, and I’m the one that didn’t scamper out of the kitchen fast enough before the potted uncle grabbed my elbow. Listening to Biden feels like I’m stuck listening to same potted uncle go on about his crackpot theories that he pulled out of his ass after the fifth cheap beer.

    • Typical leftist asshat…talk louder, interrupt, stick their fingers in their ears “la la la la I can’t hear you”, that’s how Biden acted.

  14. A.Men

Sneering, snarking, rude, hateful, mannerless Biden.

Moronic, lying Joe the Lunch Bucket Idiot.

    Romney/Ryan 2012.

  15. Well, looks like the Biden bus rolled over the intelligence community tonight….that will win votes for sure..not
Rude, condescending, ignorant, disrespectful, smarmy, ugly, and a few other adjectives that I can’t mention on a G rated blog.

    • Many women and swing voters will have hated his condescending, swaggering display.

Perhaps the even bigger problem the Obama campaign will have in the coming days is that Biden, again just like Gore in 2000, repeatedly exaggerated and mischaracterised for effect.

And worse than Gore – who was caught in a series of small lies in 2000 – Biden was demonstrably untruthful in some big respects.

Most seriously, Biden blamed the intelligence community for the debacle that led to and followed the killing of ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in last month’s terror attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

  16. francinepink

    From Breitbart:

Ryan could win on composure alone.

    • Laughing about Iran and the nukes, lying about the 716 billion taken out of Medicare, lying about the Intelligence community……..Raddatz didn’t zero in on any of it. Ryan was right about Preezy being disengaged. while our Consulate was being attacked BO was off to Las Vegas…what President would do that?

  17. Across the spectrum…everyone is saying what we’re saying….even the left

  18. The Original

Hillary is now officially under the bus . . . it’s her fault to even have her career tied to Obama. She made the decision to support him. Her problem.

  19. OH isn’t buying the Biden BS…no way no how from the Columbus Dispatch…

[…]Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Charlene Lamb, who helps oversee diplomatic security, acknowledged in the hearing that she had told security officials at the U.S. Embassy in the capital city of Tripoli not to bother asking for more security help after the assignment of a supplemental security team ended in August.

Security officer Eric A. Nordstrom told Congress members he took Lamb’s refusal to mean “there was going to be too much political cost.”

In March and July, Nordstrom cabled his superiors in the State Department asking for more security at Benghazi, which had much less protection than the embassy in Tripoli. He got no reply.

His further comment at Wednesday’s hearing is damning: “The takeaway from that, for me and my staff: It was abundantly clear we were not going to get resources until the aftermath of an incident. And the question that we would ask is, again, ‘How thin does the ice have to get before someone falls through?’ ”[…]

  20. The Original

Are you ready for a little humor? Shuster has always been a Democrat hack, but this is the hackiest at its best.

  21. srdem65

I got my absentee ballot today. I voted for Romney/Ryan, Jeff Flake for US Senato,r and my fav Sheriff Joe Arpaio…we have 9 ballot issues and about 30 judges, justice of the peace and city council, school board, mine inspector (!) corporation commission members.
Whew! Opps, forgot state legislators, us congressman, state senators.

BTW, the congressman running on the Repub ticket in my district is a Black man; very qualified and worthy of my vote for sure. We don’t have a big Black community where I live so I don’t know how this is going to play. The Dem, is a obama/commie woman. yuk.

  22. Annie's Mom

Uh oh: “With tensions between President Obama and the Clintons at a new high, former President Bill Clinton is moving fast to develop a contingency plan for how his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, should react if Obama attempts to tie the Benghazi fiasco around her neck, according to author Ed Klein.”

    • Yet Big Bill is going to campaign with BO…along with Springsteen…

  23. I will try not to make this too long, so here goes. I’m in CT visiting my Dad. His caretaker and I were disgussing Obama and Romney. She seemed surprised that I was for Romney. Here comes the good part. She said that the country was left with many problems that were caused by Bush and that he didn’t have a real plan to get us out of the mess. I asked her then why did he run for president if he didn’t have a clue how to get us out of the mess? No answer. Then she said he was a pawn. He was prepped to be a puppet. I said, sure he was, he was prepped by Soros and by Alinsky. Why would anyone vote for him knowing he was “paid for” and prepped by known Marxists? Again no answer. She finally did admit he was voted in only because he was black. I always thought she was a smart person, but now I’m not too sure.

  24. Carole

There is no doubt in Barry’s mind that Americans can be fooled into believing he is a christian, just like all his other proclamations that he is not a socialist, that he is a happily normal married man, that he cares for our military men and women and that Romney’s a liar. There is nothing genuine about Barry and Mooch and this article points to evidence that the Grand Faker is an out and out liar.

  25. Annie's Mom

…”To an American with common sense not subverted by advanced degrees, the thought of putting Islamic “martyrs” in charge of American “infidels” in Benghazi — which, fun fact, literally means “city of holy warriors” — would trigger the inevitable “heck, no.” And that’s without even knowing what is significant about Feb. 17.”

    • We’ve been siding with the enemy since BO was elected…..

    • the jihadists are becoming more brazen all over the planet. Governments support them….
[…]In Tunisia, “The number of active (jihadists) who pose a danger is estimated by the police at around three thousand. They are all known and identified,” Marzouki said. He estimated that there were around 3,000 Islamist militants in his country. Tunisian police have been searching for Salafist leaders in connection with the embassy attack, notably Seif Allah Ibn Hussein, also known as Abu Iyadh, who heads the hard-line group Ansar al-Sharia and has managed to escape arrest several times.

“I ask why Abu Iyadh has not been arrested until now,” said Marzouki, a veteran human rights activist with Tunisia’s center-left CPR party, in an apparent swipe at the government dominated by the CPR’s Islamist allies Ennahda[…]

    • and this….
[…]With Syrian despot Bashar al-Assad on his way out, one of the world’s most dangerous terrorist organizations may also be heading for trouble — Hezbollah, in Syrian-dominated Lebanon.

The clearest sign so far that Hezbollah may be losing its grip on Lebanese politics came Wednesday, as Lebanon marked the 67th anniversary of the foundation of its national army.

In his Army Day speech, President Michel Suleiman, an ex- general, rejected all three pillars of Hezbollah’s discourse:

      * Hezbollah insists that it maintains an unofficial army to “resist Israeli aggression.”

Suleiman said: “Defending the nation and ensuring its sovereignty with the force of arms is the exclusive prerogative of the national army.”

      * Hezbollah also claims to be part of a “Resistance Front,” along with the Islamic Republic in Tehran and the Assad regime in Damascus. This, it says, means waging “relentless war” against the United States and Israel until “the Islamic Revolution” triumphs worldwide.

Suleiman, by contrast, pointedly asserted that no one had the right to involve Lebanon in conflicts that have nothing to do with it.

“We will not be dragged into problems created by others,” he said.

      * Hezbollah has turned southern Beirut, parts of the Bekaa Valley and parts of south Lebanon into no-go areas for the Lebanese national army and police.

In tones that would have been unimaginable even a month ago, Suleiman said the national army would assert its presence throughout the national territory[…]

Berri trying to fix the elections…..poweful as speaker
[…]Commenting on the fighting in violence-stricken Syria, Berri predicted that the Syrian crisis will be with us for a long time , while at the same time he voiced his hope that “the bloody confrontations there will stop as soon as possible.”

Speaker Berri, who heads up the Amal Movement is a key member of the Iranian and Syrian- backed Hezbollah-led March 8 alliance. There is concern within the March 14 opposition that Hezbollah is no hurry for the elections as long as the crisis in Syria continues.[…]

    From Lebanon, OH today…Romney’s rally…estimated at 11,000:

    • The Original

I watched part of his speech. He was really, really good!

      • Obama is depressing when he speaks (hype and blame politics) Romney makes us feel we stand a chance to do better.
