Leftist fuddy duddies

Fighting the battles of the past is not working for Democrats nor is setting up Obama as an icon to progress. Neither one are worth the fight. Romney recognizes this, so far. The only “war on women” is the one Democrats are pushing that we shouldn’t worry our pretty little heads about real issues but, just concentrate on birth control and the men will handle everything else. Yes, the left thinks women are that stupid. Those leftist fuddy duddies are dwelling in the past and don’t want to discuss our future nor that of our children. Proof how interested women are in being “Julia”? Sandy “give me free stuff” Fluke was in Reno to campaign on the “war on women”  whine from the O Team. Looks like the economy is still the centerpiece of this election, even for women. Oh my, you would think the left was smart enough to figure that out. After all, we women do most of the shopping, car pooling, and deal with our budgets on a daily basis. It’s not like we haven’t noticed the rising costs of everything and our shrinking incomes.

Sandra Fluke, the woman at the center of a media firestorm earlier this year after Rush Limbaugh called her a “slut,” spoke Saturday in front of about 10 people at the Sak ‘N Save in north Reno.

Clarice Feldman has her own take on the hypocrisy of the left in the “war on women” meme.

Then there’s the insult of an appeal that assumes that over half the  population is so focused on their reproductive parts that nothing else matters  much to them. I mean that does seem terribly regressive when you consider it.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/10/the_war_on_women_backfires.html#ixzz29zm8GKPG

In sharp contrast to the “war on women” meme, Anne Romney did something to effect real change in the lives of millions of women.

Today, Ms Romney donned a pink ‘Team Romney’ t-shirt and a breast-cancer awareness pin as she weaved through downtown Orlando for the annual fundraising event, which drew more than 40,000 participants.

What a big difference in attitudes, no? Anne Romney is going to make a really great FLOTUS. Bet we won’t see her using the East Room for hula hooping and sack races. I also doubt she will be mugging for the cameras and using street lingo to get any points across in interviews.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s debate. I’ll leave this thread up for the big night on foreign policy. Is this what flexibility means to BO?  http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=9010171941  …..also endorsed by Hugo Chavez, Castro, Putin.

I am not sure if any of the Birdies have seen any articles that indicate Obama arranged for the Benghazi trip that resulted in the murder of Chris Stevens.

    http://www.lsnewsgroup.com/2012/10/17/obama-arranged-benghazi-trip-that-resulted-in-murder-of-us-amb-chris-stevens/

    • I think Clinton appointed him as Ambassador…..may have been cleared through the WH.

  2. Plain Dealer endorsement for BO leaves a lot to be desired…..the thrill is gone

    http://www.cleveland.com/opinion/index.ssf/2012/10/on_the_basis_of_sound_leadersh.html#incart_hbx

    • Have you noticed that the majority of the endorsements for BO are lackluster? It seems that the announcements come with an understanding of “we are a news organization with a liberal slant so we are obligated to support the President’s re-election.” No front page, above the fold proclamations this time.

      • The most unendorsed endorsement I have ever seen in the PD. The best they could come up with is ‘vote for BO because Romney is a warmonger’? LOL 😀

        • I’m scratching my head on that one.

  3. Al Qaeda is dead….thank goodness not everyone believes Obama…..
[…]Information Minister Samih Maayatah told a news conference, meanwhile, that the 11 suspects had entered Jordan from neighboring Syria.
“he prisoners came across the border from Syria and were caught red-handed,” he said, adding that authorities seized weapons and maps showing the locations of the sites they planned to attack.
A key U.S. ally in the Middle East and Israel’s peace partner, Jordan enjoys close ties with Western intelligence agencies and has often been targeted by al-Qaeda and other Islamist militants.
The cell had targeted two major shopping malls in the capital and was planning a bombing campaign in the capital’s affluent Abdoun neighborhood, where many foreign embassies are located.
A security source said the suspects had manufactured explosives “aimed at inflicting the heaviest losses possible,” according to Reuters.
“The group was able to devise new types of explosives to be used for the first time and planned to add TNT to increase their destructive impact,” said the source.
The same security source said there was a crucial link with Syria where President Bashar al-Assad is battling to put down an uprising against his family’s rule.
“Their plans included getting explosives and mortars from Syria,” the security source told Reuters, saying the militants had sought to strike at a time of regional upheaval when the country’s security establishment is over stretched.
The authorities said they had seized large quantities of ammunition, machine guns and other items such as computers. The militants were training to use “suicide bombers using explosive belts and booby-trapped cars,” said another security source.
Jordan has in recent months arrested scores of hardline Islamist fundamentalists along its northern border with Syria as they were about to cross into the country to join jihadist groups fighting to overthrow Assad.
If Jordan allows Assad’s opponents to aid the armed uprising, Amman’s security forces fear the Syrian government could retaliate by sending agents to carry out bomb attacks inside the country.
Intercepted electronic mail showed that the cell had received advice from Iraqi al-Qaeda explosives experts.[…]

  4. Will the moderator even Ask O for comments on this ? Of course not. Bob Schieffer is going to tread very carefully tonight, after the donnybrook that ensued last week re. Ms Crowley. So my guess is, he’ll just lob softballs.
I had a moment of clarity recently when I realized that O’s base is amused by Big Bird, and can’t find Libya on a map. As stupid as the campaign sounds to those of us who are interested in this stuff, there are millions out there who care for nothing but 4 more years of their idol.. Axelrod is a sly fox, who doesn’t mind looking like a jackass if he picks up a couple of votes for Zero, and don’t even get me started on Ms. Cutter, who looks exactly like one of the shape shifters on “Grimm”, which btw is a fun show if you like being a little scared by fantasy.

    • LOL 😀 Cutter does look somewhat like the creepy blonde doesn’t she… Grimm is Friday night fair at our house too…then a movie…this past Friday it was the ‘Avengers’.

      • conner43

Love Grimm, hard to explain why. I really like his friend, the clock repairman.

        • There’s a soft place in my heart for Monroe too. 😀

  5. Since when is a dead Ambassador peripheral to the larger scheme of things?

[…]I think in the Egypt case, you didn’t see quite the same response, and I think that’s very worrying for the United States and for the administration. But I think the far larger point is that we’re right now in the middle of, the region is in the middle of such turmoil. And we’re not, we don’t seem to be addressing it in any meaningful way. Instead, we’re like, we’re talking about, you know, the death of four Americans, which is why while incredibly tragic, is something that I think is peripheral to what’s going on right now.[…]

    http://weaselzippers.us/2012/10/22/nyts-helene-cooper-oin-benghazi-terror-attack-death-of-four-americans-is-peripheral-to-whats-going-on-right-now/

  6. What I am trying to say is I think the election will show us if the majority of voters are dumbed down children, and folks who rarely leave the faculty lounge, or are we, at least for now, still a nation of grownups ? I’m not so sure , I watched Morning Joe today, so I’m going with the dumbed down meme for now.

    • Morning Joe is very difficult for me to watch as standard fair. If there was ever a person who personified “dumb blonde” it’s Mika. When she was angry over the “binder” thing it was another eye opener. It does seem a whole bunch of people in the US would prefer someone else do their thinking for them. The wonders of our public education system.

    • Carole

Dumbed down beyond belief. People are not willing to read or do research on Obama. I have stopped watching all news channels except Fox.

  7. srdem65

LOL…”uninstalling Obama”…if it were only that easy….sigh. Even I know how to ‘uninstall’ something!

MrsRomney reminds me so much of MrsLauraBush. You know they have their own minds, that they might disagree with a certain agenda, and are smart as whips. I listened to clips of Ann on different TV shows and her intelligence and humor shines. She won’t do, say, or wear anything that will make us cringe. If she has a ‘project’ like other FirstLadies, it won’t be to change the world or impose her beliefs on others, but will be to support causes that already exist.

    • We are at 90%…glad you liked it! 😀
Anne Romney is going to make the quintessential FLOTUS. The ‘View’ hags wanted to dislike her but, she rose above them all. Hard to dislike someone who is so patient and kind.

    • DLeigh

      Uninstalling Obama……… █████████████▒▒▒ 90% complete.

Saw this on another site and stole it.

  8. OOOOPS…WH asshats caught in more lies…who outed the Libyans working with the US?…..Dems and Obama….featured and named on the WH website

  9. Always backing the wrong horse…

“Afghan ‘Woman of Courage’ hailed by Michelle Obama for defending women’s rights has actually JAILED 100 wives for ‘adultery’
•More than 50% of women jailed for adultery in Afghanistan come from province prosecuted by Ms Bashir – which holds just 20% of the population”

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2221316/Woman-Courage-hailed-Michelle-Obama-defending-womens-rights-jailed-100-wives-adultery-Afghanistan.html

    • srdem65

I don’t know how they find these “adulteress” women. Do the men they have sexual relations with turn them in to the authorities..or……do their husbands accuse them as a way of “getting rid” of them?
It’s always been a curious mystery as to why men in certain cultures (even ours) think women need to be dominated or are less than human, stupid, careless. it wasn’t that long ago that women weren’t allowed to own property, or inherit assets, heck women couldn’t even vote. It ws even in my lifetime that women weren’t allowed to work in certain professions, weren’t allowed to wear slacks to certain official places, excluded from certain clubs and universities. Sports? there were no “girls” sports in high school until just lately.

      OT a little;
Has anyone else been following the PBS series “Call the Midwife”?
It is a stark reminder of women’s lives before the “pill”.

      • Most of the time their husbands accuse them…. or the Vice and Virtue police ….either way the Muslimas are screwed….

  10. Francine

Supposedly Trump is going to release some unflattering info on Obama by Wednesday.

    • I really wish he would knock it off…Romney doesn’t need that kind of help

  11. More Dept. of energy failures…..with security
“Special agents tasked with protecting the Department of Energy (DOE) have blown the whistle on what they describe as a dangerous culture of “fraud, waste, and abuse” that includes drinking on the job, mismanagement of weapons, falsification of security reports, and “wasteful spending” that reaches all the way to the deputy secretary of energy.”

    http://freebeacon.com/department-of-energy-insecurity/

    • srdem65

      Why am I not shocked?

      • Wait….those Special Agents will be prosecuted under the Obama DOJ….after they’re fired…bet on it.

  12. Dick Durbin told Chris Wallace these were “pretenders” and do not belong to the Al Qaeda umbrella….that is pure chutzpah!

“In fact, the day after the attack, CNN reported that the attack was suspected to have been carried out by Ansar al-Sharia, an al-Qaeda linked terrorist group. But the White House continued to press forward with its line that the incident was connected to a video.”

    http://www.unitedliberty.org/articles/11623-intelligence-officials-destroy-white-houses-benghazi-narrative?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

  13. conner43

It is apparent that Dick Durbin is a snake. He used to be rather well thought of, another tragedy of hanging out with O.

  14. Holy——! The “annex” in Benghazi was a secret CIA building….Annie’s Mom was right!!
Shepard Smith just hit Gibberish with that one. Whoa!

  15. Waiting for 2012

Hate to say it, but I don’t think Mitt’s doign so well in this debate. Wish he’d bring up the Bengahzi debacle. Why didn’t he????

The moderator is giving Obama the last word on everything.

    • srdem65

MrR let BO act petty and small with his personal attacks. I think they were both holding back on sensitive issues. MrR looked good, I’d call it even.

MrsR looked lovely in her green dress. Just perfect.
MrsO looked like she was going to a cocktail party. Idiot.

      • Obama looked angry at times….he doesn’t like to be challenged on anything.
He stared too much at Romney. don’t know if that was supposed to make him look strong or what, but it sure didn’t go over very well.

    • BO was petulant and somewhat childish. Loved it when Romney told BO he needed to get a bigger spine. LOL 😀
When BO said the media would be “factchecking” I nearly fell of the couch laughing. Small man, thin skinned, what a hoot!

      • Annie's Mom

From BO…the unemployment rate among our vets is half of the rate for the general public…so WRONG…it’s about 14%. Such a bald-face liar. How does anyone prepare themselves for such a face off? Lie after lie, after lie.

        OT…I think that

        • Annie's Mom

sorry, didn’t even hit reply…anyway, I think that TSA should be turned over to a sub-military office. Fire all the wannabes and hire ex-military to run it. They are professional, polite, and know how to do the job. We’d be a whole lot safer….

          • ….and they wouldn’t steal from the passengers to supplement their income.

    • Francine
  16. Annie's Mom

MO wore a $3,000 dress not available at Target for tonight’s debate:

    http://freebeacon.com/first-lady-wears-thom-browne-dress-at-debate/

    • Waiting for 2012

      “Not available at Target”–snicker!!!

    • That dress reminded me of a six year old’s party dress. The only thing grown up about it was the color and the price. 😀

    • Oh wow…Anne on the beach while Mitt plays footbal before the debate… she’s so normal and fun, family oriented without making a big deal about it (like MO)…
      http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2221433/Ann-Romney-appears-swimsuit-Florida-beach-Mitt-plays-touch-football-press.html

      • Francine

She is lovely and seems so unaffected.

        • francinepink

Jus thinking there is no way anyone could affectionately rumple MOO’s hair like Mrs. Romney’s daughter in law did. They would either pull back a bloody stump or a dirty wig.

          • LOL 😀

      • Annie's Mom

It is so obvious the entire family enjoys spending time together…I look forward to the pitter-patter of little grandbaby feet in the WH. 🙂

  17. Carole

I caught sight of the dress up close and I thought it look like something that a woman from the 40s would wear to a cheap dance hall. Ice skaters wear fake nude toned netting to look like their skin. The dress just looked cheap, out of place and that pin made it look even cheaper. Tom Browne’s dress was totally unfortunate looking on MO, sooooooooooooo not the right dress to wear at a presidental debate.

  18. Obama says sequestration is “not gonna happen”….immediately after the debate Plouffe said Obama meant “it shouldn’t happen”.

    • More here from the WSJ….

But the truth is that Mr. Obama has been using the fear of huge defense cuts as a political strategy to force Republicans to accept a tax increase. As Bob Woodward describes in his recent book, Mr. Obama and the White House helped to devise the defense sequester strategy—no matter the actual risk to defense.

No doubt voters didn’t see a big difference in this debate because it really wasn’t about American foreign policy. It was really a debate to change the minds, if any can be turned, of the remaining undecided voters in Cuyahoga County. Both candidates can read the polls that show those voters care mainly about the economy and so both candidates returned again and again to their competing plans.

  19. It has always ticked me off that Obama takes credit for ending the Iraq War and the drawdown of troops from Iraq.
    Factcheck this!

OBAMA: “What I would not have had done was left 10,000 troops in Iraq that would tie us down. And that certainly would not help us in the Middle East.”

THE FACTS: Obama was suggesting that he had never favored keeping U.S. troops in Iraq beyond the December 2011 withdrawal deadline that the Bush administration had negotiated with the Iraqi government. Actually, the Obama administration tried for many months to win Iraqi agreement to keeping several thousand American troops there beyond 2011 to continue training and advising the Iraqi armed forces. The talks broke down over a disagreement on legal immunity for U.S. troops.

    http://news.yahoo.com/fact-check-missteps-final-presidential-debate-024010904–election.html

For a man who uses W as a whipping boy for every single one of his failures, he likes to take a whole lot of credit for W success. Biden also failed.

  20. Christie in VA…his sentiments echo everything I feel about Obama.

I mean, that is a scary thing for the President of the United States to say, isn’t it? … It shows his arrogance. See, ’cause if he really believes that, if he believes that, then what the hell is he doing asking for another four years? You can’t just [fix] Washington, D.C. from the inside? That’s fine, we’re happy to give you a bus ticket to the outside, Mr. President. … What he’s saying is, ‘It’s not my fault. … It’s G.W. Bush’s fault, it’s Dick Cheney’s fault, it’s big oil’s fault, it’s the coal company’s fault, it’s the gas company’s fault, it’s the fault of the Republicans in Congress… For God’s sake, it’s anybody’s fault but mine,’ he says. ‘Please, give me another four years, and I will figure it out.’ You know what, Mr. President? I am tired of waiting for you to figure it out. …He doesn’t know anything about leading. He’s never led anything in his life. Until we made him president of the United States, he’s never led anything in his life. … Blindly walking around the White House, looking for a clue. …

  21. The UN as poll watchers……here in the US…
[…]At the request of several liberal-leaning groups including the American Civil Liberties Union, the NAACP and the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, a United Nations affiliate, announced it will deploy a team of poll watchers to polling sites across the country in order to monitor and document potential disputes.

The poll watchers will come from Serbia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Germany and France, and other countries.[…]

    http://yellowhammerpolitics.com/blog/hubbard-moves-to-block-united-nations-poll-watchers-from-operating-in-alabama/

Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights? What a joke! They should have been in Russia during their last elections. Or, maybe they could concentrate their efforts to stop Bashir in the Sudan from murdering the indigenous people. Why would the Obama Administration even allow this?

  22. Biggest whine from left and the right……Romney agreed with BO too much…. LOL 😀
Romney didn’t bite….kept on smiling…a reasonable man…Presidential…he did point out the failings but, not as an angry shouting contest. BO unraveled because he couldn’t pick a fight.

  23. Weasle Zippers, a while back, had pics of the military using horses to reach the mountainous regions in Afghanistan. Tweets from the military, Army and Marines, reminded BO they also still use bayonets. Found this at Hot Air…
“Mr. Obama’s snarky “horses and bayonets” line also backfired. As several Marines and Army veterans tweeted during the debate, Marines still use bayonets. In fact, had the President chosen to station Marines at Benghazi, as he should have, Marines would in all likelihood have used their bayonets when the mission there was attacked. Also, the Army’s Special Forces currently use horses in the mountains of Afghanistan.[…]

  24. Francine

One of my favorite parts of the debate is when Mr. Romney said this:
” Mr. President, the reason I call it an apology tour is because you went to the Middle East and you flew to Egypt and to Saudi Arabia and to Turkey and Iraq. And by the way, you skipped Israel, our closest friend in the region, but you went to the other nations.

And by the way, they noticed that you skipped Israel. And then in those nations, and on Arabic TV, you said that America had been dismissive and derisive. You said that on occasion America had dictated to other nations.

Mr. President, America has not dictated to other nations. We have freed other nations from dictators.”

I realized how much I have missed a leader who stands up for America and all the good we do in the world. We heal, feed, clothe, minister to, fight for and free more people around the world than any other country. I think liberals try to spin it as if that is a terrible thing and I am sick of hearing it. It was wonderful to hear Romney stand up for our country, it has been too long.

  25. It was wonderful to hear Romney stand up for our country, it has been too long.

It surely was….he’s going to make fine President. 😉
