Lynn's Little Nest

A fine site

‘Nuff said……

Compare and contrast…….

open thread….cause it’s all I got for today

  1. “Michelle: President Wasn’t ‘Pointing Fingers’ When He ‘Inherited Economy in Rapid Decline'”

Really? What are these people on?

    • srdem65

      It’s called “rewriting history”.

  2. From the Original post on the previous thread…

“It is precisely this kind of partisan divide that Obama promised to end. He was going to make history not only as the United States’ first black president but as its healer, vowing to lead the nation into a new era of cooperation. But that promise to blend blue America and red America into purple America is an example of Obama’s failure of leadership.

Sad to say, the reservations our editorial board expressed about Obama in 2008 have been borne out.”

Refreshing…didn’t listen to us in 2008 and now have regrets?

  3. We may lose power here. It’s getting very windy with 50mph gusts…supposed to get stronger as the evening progresses. The lake is whipping up a frenzy….Keep safe, to everyone in this storm’s path. We’ll pray for you.

    • Annie's Mom

Stay safe, Lynn, and everyone else in the storm. It looks so bad!

      • winds gusting 70 mph….another 20 minutes and it’s on top of us.
Candles, oil lamps and flashlights at the ready….. 🙂

        • Waiting for 2012

We’re having the same thing. The storm should really hit our area soon. It made landfall in NJ about an hour ago, so we’re next in line. Our power went of for only 15 mins, @ 4 PM. So far, so good.

Did anyone catch Gov. Christie’s presser? He’s most unhappy with the Atlantic City mayor (who defied his order for mandatory avacuation. The mayor told him that “her wanted his people to stay in AC”). I don’t blame the Gov. As usual, he didn’t mince words! 🙂

          Stay safe, everyone.

          • srdem65

The Gov talks to his people like adults. He expects them to ACT like adults, not petulant children. He’s so refreshing and his popularity with all of America shows that we like the way he governs.

            • Annie's Mom

I heard BO’s lecture this morning…”listen to your local officials, and if they tell you to evacuate then do so”. He then ended his lecture with “if you need more info, go to “”. Fox then went to Janice Dean, the Weather Machine. She stated, “if you’re not in your safe place, sorry, it’s too late to prepare, it’s time to hunker down. Do not go out. It is not safe. Stay where you are.”

Ha, ha…he can’t do anything right!!!

    • Be safe Lynn II and other Birdies in Sandy’s path. I’ll say a prayer for you.

  4. Stay safe and keep down. I hope you have emergency provisions.

  5. Ladies, stay safe out there. Nothing in this world is as important a your life. May God bless you and keep you from harm.

On a lighter note, Joe Biden needs to sit down. All this campaignin’ has made him dizzy.

  6. “Report: Fast and Furious a product of DOJ ‘deliberate strategy’ laid out by Eric Holder, other senior Obama officials”

  7. srdem65

My daughter who was visiting in the Pittsburgh area got the last flight out of the GreaterPittsburghInt airport at 8pm Eastern. She said the whole airport was empty, only the people on her flight were there. No waiting, no lines. She said it was “spooky”.

I hope all of you stay safe, warm and dry. It’s sounds like a monster storm.

    • PA is a big mess too from what I have heard…she’s so lucky to have gotten out and not grounded. Another thing to be thankful for…. 🙂

  8. Carole

Dear Birdies that are in the storm’s path, stay safe, keep warm and my thoughts are with you. May you ride it out and be back on here all safe and happy to be comm, enting with all the birdies. May God watch over all of you.

  9. Carole

A great comparison of how Obama and Romney react to natural disasters and helping others.

  10. It’s 6:38 and the power is back on….got a little nippy but we have flannel sheets and enough blankets to stay warm…… slept In our sweats too….20 foot waves but, the pumping station is on high ground, no water issues as yet….we keep water on hand for emergencies….
schools are closed….winds still high and gusting at 65 mph.
I am so happy this mess wasn’t in the dead of winter…there you go, something to be thankful for. 🙂

    • Waiting for 2012

Lynn II, I’m so happy you’re ok (and I hope everyone else here is as well)! you know, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. We found that most of our firewood was unusuable, so I started piling up the burnable paper that we’d normally recycle. We did have commerical fire logs, but we were anticipating a long power outage. I thought to myself, “Boy, this would’ve really been awful, had it been winter!”.

      • We’re in the soup until 8:00 PM. Stay safe and warm!

  11. About that “Romnesia” …. there’s another name for ‘Nemesis’…..BO may be prescient

“In Greek mythology, Nemesis (Greek, Νέμεσις), also called Rhamnousia/Rhamnusia (“the goddess of Rhamnous”) at her sanctuary at Rhamnous, north of Marathon, was the spirit of divine retribution against those who succumb to hubris (arrogance before the gods). The Greeks personified vengeful fate as a remorseless goddess: the goddess of revenge. The name Nemesis is related to the Greek word νέμειν [némein], meaning “to give what is due”.

    See that….. 😀

    • Waiting for 2012

Wonder how many people on the left think that Romnesia is the country where
      Obama’s father was born? LOL

      • LOL 😀

  12. Time for American families to join us….the “liberal agenda is not a black agenda, not a family agenda or an American agenda”……

    …..and rightly so.

    • from the article;
“McKinley points to a Univiersity of Wisconsin Milwaukee “Race and Male Employment in the Wake of the Great Recession” study, which found that for the 40-year time span between 1970 and 2010 the employment rate of black males between 16-64 years old has fallen by 28% to 55% in the country’s 25 largest metropolitan areas. Over these 40 years, he claims his community, the “poor-black community,” has been controlled and devastated by black Democrats implementing a “white-liberal agenda.” He specifically points to the President’s policy of putting issues such as same-sex marriage and amnesty for illegal aliens in front of the struggling black community and curbing violence.

McKinley says boldly, “There is no Tea Party in my community, there is no Republicans in my community, so they can’t blame Republicans, they can’t [blame] Tea Parties; I can only blame the democrat-liberal agenda.””

  13. Getting light out….the neighborhood is a mess….trees down all over the place…no houses hit but, cars have been…may be offline again….this thing is circling us big time…..lots of flooding…yikes! so glad we’re on higher ground…. another thing to be thankful for…. going to make some calls to see if anyone needs help. Feel so sorry for New Jersey….they took a real beating.

    • srdem65

Hang in there, I’m glad to hear you and yours are OK.

      • You get the massive sandstorms, we get this…toss up on which is worse!
Thanks for the thought…we’re in and staying in…. 🙂

        • srdem65

Thanks, but contrary to what you see or hear on the MSM, a dust storm or sand storm doesn’t cause any damage or even blow over a cactus or two. All it does is put dust or sand on everything that isn’t covered.

On the other hand, you folks have to deal with life-threatening events, property destroying natural disasters while trying to keep safe, warm and dry.
We worry about our friends and family back East (as we call it).

          • We’re a resilient bunch….checked in with neighbors….everyone is doing ok…power outages in the counties along the lake is the worst we have so far…

          • welll except for the breakwall ending up on the shoreway ….huge rocks everywhere….still, no one has died so, plenty to be thankful for..

    • Annie's Mom

Glad to hear you’re all okay!

      • We’re good! 🙂

  14. I’m glad that you are safe so far–best of luck with the cleanup!! I hope all the other Birdies in the path of the storm are safe as well.

  15. “All Class: Ad Vows to ‘C*ck Punch’ Mitt Romney – Viewer Discretion Advised”

BO’s supporters have managed to stun me with this one.

    • srdem65

The “old people in the nursing home” are actually actors. I recognized the one Black woman as being in an insurance ad and someone recognized the “old White man” as being in a handicap cart ad.
The profanity is shocking and shame on those actors who took money to demean themselves, and every senior in America as rude, obscene and stupid.

    • Waiting for 2012

“Voter suppresion” by Republicans???? Apparently, the “residents” of this “nursing home” are strongly medicated on a frequent basis. What voter suppresion????

The Dims are REALLY getting desperate, if they have to make this sham of a commercial. Such disgusting vulgarity.

BTW, I thought Michael Moore (is this the same “Fill up my plate some Moore at the all-you-can-eat-buffet) is upset with Bamster?

  16. Tacky, tacky, tacky…..
Got a phone? Tell BO you got his back….

    • srdem65

Sure, I got his back as he’s loading the Obama belongings onto the moving truck. Wouldn’t want him to fall down and hurt himself.

      • Waiting for 2012

      • 😀 I would even help them load up to keep him from hurting himself…. lol

        • Waiting for 2012

I just can’t wait for we Birdies to move back into the Big White nest, come January. I’m saving up my bits of string and twigs for then. 🙂

          • LOL 😀

        • Waiting for 2012

Heck, I’d even drive the U-Haul trailer down there for you, Lynn II! 🙂

    • Waiting for 2012

Well, those socialists always say they want a “classless” society…they’ve managed to attain classlessness in one way. 🙂

      • lol 😀

  17. Carole

Oh come on Obama people, older people like that in the video, at that age, have more dignity than that to talk “trash.” I also recognize the black woman actress as a character in an insurance ad. The Obama team assumes that all Americans can be fooled by their lies and idiotic ads. Like the young woman who is comparing voting for Obama with having sex. One look at Obama, definitely turns me off erotically. I can’t get passed the big moles on the side of his nose and the purple lips.

  18. OMG! BO went ‘there’…..said as “Americans we don’t leave anyone behind”…..but he did, in Benghazi….

    • Yes, he did say that!

    • Annie's Mom

I heard that and couldn’t believe he said it! I thought the entire speech was BS…we don’t need a _residential lecture about how to look out for each other.

  19. Francine

Creepy 2008 commercial to pledge to serve Obama by celebrities, ugh!

  20. Carole

Now this is just sad that children are used to sing a song that is pro choice Obama.

    • Nothing like having kids sing about hating to make the day brighter /s

  21. The Original

So, Obama goes to the American Red Cross headquarters today. It is about 2-3 blocks from the WH. You can easily walk there. Big deal! NOT!!

  22. Waiting for 2012

We were in a Wegman’s food court this afternoon. They have a big-screen TV, and Obama was on live. Only 1 person in the entire food court even looked up at the TV (admittedly, many were taking advantage of the free wi-fi post-storm, and on their laptops), and I think it was only because she was bored, judging by her body language. And these were mostly younger people.

    • Annie's Mom

I love hearing about the anectodal stories…as well as the random “signs” reports. R²!!

    • Waiting for 2012

“911 Jihad Way”–love that. Hey, isn’t Abbottabad near San Diego? Great pork barbecue place in Abbottabad. You just gotta try it, if you’re ever in town. 🙂

  23. Carole

I remember when Oprah announced that Obama was “brilliant.” Wonder what she is about him lately?

    • Isn’t it funny how quiet she’s been? Remember what she told Entertainment Tonight in 2008?

“I’m euphoric, I’ve been doing the happy dance all day. I’m so proud of Barack and [his wife] Michelle Obama and what this means for all of us … the new possibilities for our country. And if he wants me to, I’m ready to go door to door.”

      • srdem65

The last thing we heard from Oprah was “help!” as she was thrown under the Obama Death Bus. Poor thing.
She put everything on the llne for BO and lost. Lost her audience, lost her admirers and is nowhere to be seen.

    • Waiting for 2012

Obama’s about as “brilliant” as a tarnished silver fork.

  24. srdem65

Lynn2, you’re doing a great job. We don’t tell you very often but don’t think we don’t recognize the excellent work and the hard work you do putting this together every day.

    • Thank yew!! 😀
