Obama seems to be going out of his way to pick a fight. His nominations of Hagel, Brennan and, Lew are raising hackles all over the place. Left and right are seemingly opposed to Hagel.

So, left and right can agree on some things but, for different reasons…
Liberals (small l) want a 1 trillion coin to be minted… yes, they are serious. Count on them to come up with a cockamamy scheme every single time. http://dyn.politico.com/printstory.cfm?uuid=D92180EC-363A-498C-9B48-5CFDECD07E1D
The $1 trillion coin is receiving more support in liberal circles.
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) floated the idea last week in an interview with Capital New York.
“I’m being absolutely serious,” he said. “It sounds silly but it’s absolutely legal. And it would normally not be proper to consider such a thing, except when you’re faced with blackmail to destroy the country’s economy, you have to consider things.”
New York Times columnist and economist Paul Krugman in a Monday column endorsed Obama considering the coin as an option.
“He will, after all, be faced with a choice between two alternatives: one that’s silly but benign, the other that’s equally silly but both vile and disastrous,” Krugman wrote. “The decision should be obvious.”
The proposal carries critics who warn of potential risks, like driving inflation and lowering investor faith in American currency while trying to do just the opposite.
Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) plans to file legislation to stop the $1 trillion coin or any other similar move by the Treasury Department to avoid the fiscal cliff.
“Some people are in denial about the need to reduce spending and balance the budget,” Walden said in a statement. “This scheme to mint trillion dollar platinum coins is absurd and dangerous, and would be laughable if the proponents weren’t so serious about it as a solution.”
Just think, if both sides stopped the BS for one second and listened to the American people for once, a lot of unnecessary pilloring and arguments would end. The American taxpayer has been shut out of all discussion by both parties and, special interests and lobbyists rule the day in DC. We do have a way out of our fiscal problems and that means jobs and a revenue stream to balance the budget and reduce the deficit. It’s in the energy sector.
The US could surpass Saudi Arabia as the world’s leading oil producer by 2020, and this could mean big changes for US foreign policy and the domestic economy.
Via Meadia recently wrotethat the Gulf region, Russia, Venezuela, and other former oil monopolists will see their power and influence decrease in the face of a new American led energy order. Countries like Brazil, China, Canada, and Israel will also make gains due to the discovery of their own energy reserves.
To add icing to the geopolitical cake, America’s energy revolution could jolt some much-needed life into the long term prospects of the US economy. Since the 2008 financial crisis, more than 600,000 new jobs have come from the fracking industry, and these jobs pay well. The new industry will draw workers away from the coasts and into the American heartland, reviving the surrounding states. http://blogs.the-american-interest.com/wrm/2012/12/29/saudis-sweating-bullets-over-energy-revolution/
Just think, no more Russia holding the eastern European states hostage over gas prices or the Saudis and other ME oil producers holding the world hostage over oil production. No more ethanol that drives food prices ever higher because of unprincipled EPA regs. But, this will only happen when the ideologues in the Congress and White House stop playing with our lives and our economy, stop bolstering unions, stop picking winners and losers, ends the revolving door of lobbyists in government and, the American taxpayer once more finds their voice. The elitists of DC, the media, and our governing bodies have ceased listening to us as a people. Decisions are made behind closed doors, in the dark of night, without benefit of our input. Our Reps no longer hold townhall meetings to hear our views. All the contentiousness stems from the snobbery of thinking only their way is the correct one. While the American taxpayer is busy trying to rebuild their lives and our economy, the elite asshats in DC are busily tearing down those efforts to cater to special interests, hand out corporate welfare and base legislation on “social justice” instead of equality for all. The “takers” have lined up against the American people for their handouts. It’s time the “givers” in government put our country and its people ahead of politics and special interests groups.
