Pride and Prejudice

The left takes great pride in denigrating anyone who disagrees with them. They take a great deal of pride in “being on the right side of history”, which is rarely proven to be true. The Journal News, and others, which printed with arrogant prejudice the addresses of persons having gun permits is now backfiring.

Republican Senator Greg Ball has proposed  legislation that restricts gun permit information to law enforcement authorities  and he strongly criticized the Journal News.

‘It is reported that the burglar used the  Journal News’ interactive gun map to target a home included on the map,’ Ball  said in statement.

‘The Journal News has placed the lives of  these folks at risk by creating a virtual shopping list for criminals and nut  jobs.

‘If the connection is proven, this is further  proof that these maps are not only an invasion of privacy but that they present  a clear and present danger to law-abiding, private citizens.

‘Former convicts have already testified to  the usefulness of the asinine Journal News ‘gun maps’ yet the reckless editors  are evidently willing to roll the dice, gambling with the lives of innocent  local homeowners,’ the senator continued.

pResident Tactless again asserts “I WON” so do as I say and raise the debt ceiling. He states there will be no negotiations. He still threatens military pay and Social Security to plant fear.  How about a budget that hasn’t been produced for the last four years?

Fear mongering as usual. Nothing like a 40 something man of means threatening our elderly and military personnel, again. BO has such endearing qualities. The longer BO answered Chuck Todd’s question, the lamer and more redundant he sounded. It was becoming more of a Todd interview than a “presser”.  BO kept reiterating that we need to “pay the bill”. We know that, duh, but, we also know how much larger the Fed has grown under his administration. We are also aware of the crony give-aways to enable passage of any and every spending bill or new law. In private circles it’s usually known as bribery. BO managed to use a gun reference in his speech, “holding America hostage with a gun to their heads”.  Oh yes, he went there. Crass and ignorant. Does anyone think he’ll be called out for it? Major Garrett asked him about his votes in the Senate against raising the debt ceiling. BO said, the American people voted and that is what he wants. In other words, he has a mandate. I do believe 47% of the voting public disagrees with that assumption on his part. He also said that if Congress gave him the power he would go ahead and do it himself. Reid, Schumer and, a host of left leaning journalists are also touting that line. That is totally creepy and a precedent no one of either political party should want to see happen. The executive branch and the Dem run Senate are decidedly doing their best to neuter anyone who has a different opinion of their policies. Rumblings of racism and bigotry are already being discussed as if this really isn’t about cold hard cash. Obama in 2006;

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

Obama now;

Obama said Congress would be “irresponsible” if it does not act quickly to raise the debt celing, putting the country back into another crisis. “Time is running short,” he said.

“While I’m willing to compromise and find common ground over how to reduce our deficit, America cannot afford another debate with this Congress over how to pay the bills they’ve already racked up,” Obama said. “To even entertain the idea of this happening, of America not paying its bills, is irresponsible. It’s absurd.”

What a difference a few years makes.

    Yeah, no money for Grandma and PvtSomebody, but don’t mention the highly overpaid federal employees getting cut back, or not being able to give our money to special interests or crony friends.
    Give us (all of us) the checkbook and we’ll find ways to cut the spending without bringing America to it’s knees.

    Several states have announced that they have plans to eliminate or cut way back on personal income taxes to improve their economy. They will make up the difference by raising sales tax percentages.

    Lots of lefties are screaming that it will hurt poor people or low income people more than anyone. YES. That is the point.
    Raising the sales tax means that the 47% who pay no income taxes will finally have some skin in the game.

    • “What kind of country do we want to be. One where everyone does their fair share and pays their fair share.” – Obama
      It’s the “does their fair share” part that I would like to see implemented more. Staying illiterate to keep a government check coming doesn’t seem “fair” to me.

  2. My jaw dropped today when he stated that Congress could just let him go it alone. He was defying them to abandon the Constitution. This man is unreal.

    • BO thinks he has a mandate and, he’s so special and the best preezy evah! /

  3. BTW, where is MO? School is back in session in DC. Shouldn’t she and the girls be at Big White getting ready for this weekend’s shindig? Or is she still healing? Oops, I meant resting.

    • Getting ready for the Inaugural…….with all the lifting and hauling that goes with it. 😀

  4. Impeachment…..???
    “I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement.

  6. Claims of government cronyism….we know it happens

    “A high-tech electric car manufacturer and its related battery manufacturer are suing the Department of Energy, alleging the department improperly denied the companies a loan and leaked patented technology to competitors…..[snip]
    William Yeatman, an energy policy expert at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said the lawsuit illustrates the dangers of cronyism.

    “Whenever the government engages in industrial policy (i.e., whenever the government tries to create industries out of whole cloth, like the ‘green energy’ industry), politics invariably corrupts the process,” Yeatman wrote in an email.

    Citing Peter Schweizer’s book Throw Them All Out, Yeatman noted “$16.4 billion of the $20.5 billion in loans granted by the stimulus-created loan guarantee program ‘went to companies either run by or primarily owned by Obama financial backers.’”

  7. The language of the left….prejudicial and very ugly

    “Using loaded language about “greed” and labels like “Corporate America” isn’t any less prejudicial than talking about how Mexicans are sneaking over the border to take away American jobs. As a matter of fact, Democrats spent a lot of time the past year talking about “outsourcing” and “shipping jobs overseas,” which is really just another method of xenophobic blame-shifting: The Foreigners! Are Taking! Our Jobs!

    Why don’t we recognize the language of the Left as expressions of prejudice? Why is demonization of ”the rich” accepted as a substitute for actual understanding of how the economy works?”

    OT. stupid
    NYC will now put GPS systems on bottles of prescription painkillers like Percoset/oxy and others. Is that the stupidest, dumbest idea ever? The bad guys or the addicted or whomever the NYPD wants to track will just dump the bottles and put the meds in their pockets. It seems that addicts are robbing pharmacies for their meds and this is what the NYPD thinks is the answer.
    The nanny-mayor wants to limit the painkillers prescribed to injured patients and now the police want to arrest or something others who need these meds.
    There must be a monsterous addiction problem in NYC.

    Speaking of NY;
    the state Senate has passed a comprehensive bill to restrict and contain guns among the population with the most inane and scary provisions

    All gun owners must register their guns and get a new permit every 5 years.
    Mental health providers must notify someone if a patient seems to be a danger to himself or others, so the police can confiscate their weapons.
    Homeowners must lock up their weapons if someone in the house is on parole or mentally unstable.

    Knowing Americans, they’re not going to inform the police or anyone how many firearms they have in their possession. It’s not about hunting, it’s about preventing tyranny.

    If a “mental health provider” can claim that someone is dangerous, the police can take their firearms…but who decides if the danger isn’t just blowing off steam and how do you prove who owns what firearm. The police can (and will) determine that anyone involved in a domestic dispute is “dangerous” and will act without a lawful procedure.

    There is so much here that shreds the constitutional rights of NY residents, the law will most likely be thrown out of court at the first incident.

    • Just like it was in Chicago….

    We have had “security” in our public schools for years, armed with tasers. The police are on many school properties in the mornings and at dismissal. I don’t see a problem with having “armed security” in schools. Especially if they use off duty police officers.
