Our Vindictive President
BO is promising to bring the pain to average Americans if he doesn’t get his way. His minions are out and about making threats to the general public, using his bully pulpit to terrorize. Instead of “smarter spending cuts”, which have been offered to ‘His Majesty’, he prefers to wander around the country threatening. I have very little doubt he will punish as many of us as possible to achieve his political goals. Never has there been an uglier human being occupying Big White. Instead of flying around the country on the taxpayer dime with his campaign roadshow, Obama should hike the quarter mile to the Capitol and compromise with Congress. Doesn’t BO see the the hypocrisy of spending oodles of taxpayer money flying around the country whining about a sequester he and Jack Lew created? We spend a fortune for BO to occupy the bully pulpit, to pay for his and his family’s vacations (separate but equal), hosting parties for his donors and the entertainment elite, extravagant dinners, etc;. When do we ever get a break from them?
Governor Haley was so frustrated by the stupidity she took a couple of shots at BO and Congress:
“I could not be more frustrated than I am right now,” Haley told reporters after the meeting. She said that when she asked Obama if he would consider a last-minute plan to shave about 2 percent from the annual federal budget without increasing taxes, the answer was “no.”
“My kids could go and find $83 billion out of a $4 trillion budget,” Haley said. “This is not rocket science.”
Haley also made no effort to spare congressional Republicans, who took last week off with only a few days left before the sequestration process was set to begin.
“There is no leadership. There is no confidence. There is nothing that shows us that they actually care about what they’re doing,” Haley said. “What they’re doing is playing games, and we as the taxpayers are having to cover for their games. We’re not going to do it anymore.”
Haley also noted that “no one should be going home. No one should be playing golf. No one should be taking vacations.”
Governor Jindal didn’t hold back either:
“I think the president is trying to force us into a false choice,” Jindal said. “The reality is, there is no reason for these cuts to be made this way.” Obama could instruct his Cabinet to emphasize cuts to spending on things like consultants, Jindal said, and not on things like Head Start. “It is the president’s job as the chief executive to prioritize.”
BO has complained, still is, that the sequester does not afford him any flexibility. R-words have sent two bills to the Senate to give him wiggle room to prioritize where cuts will be made, the flexibility he says he needs. But, he rejects that outright. What we are talking about is two cents cut from every dollar spent and even that is not enough to lower the deficit.
What we’re talking about here is two cents on the dollar. Every dollar the government spends today, 35 cents is borrowed from the Chinese and others. What is going on here is ending up in a position where we borrow not 35, but 33 cents, and that is going to bring Armageddon. An example of the cynicism of this campaign, is one lobbyist for the liberal causes leading 3,000 organizations in opposing the cuts, who told The Washington Post the following: ‘The worst case scenario is the sequester hits and nothing really bad happens.’
If the worst case scenario for Progressives and BO is “nothing really bad happens”, what does that say about a President who plays brinkmanship to the detriment of the country?
