The DOJ is arguing against this, of course. First they argued it was a “penalty” then, in the Supreme Court, DOJ argued it was a tax. All revenue issues have to originate in the House, Obamacare originated in the Senate. Read it all;
The Supreme Court upheld most provisions of the act in June, but Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. took pains in the majority opinion to define Obamacare as a federal tax, not a mandate. That was when the Sacramento, Calif.-based foundation’s attorneys had their “aha” moment.
“The court there quite explicitly says, ‘This is not a law passed under the Commerce Clause; this is just a tax,’” foundation attorney Timothy Sandefur said at a Cato Instituteforum on legal challenges to the health care act. “Well, then the Origination Clause ought to apply. The courts should not be out there carving in new exceptions to the Origination Clause.”
By now all of you must have heard about the good Reverend Louis Leon’s Easter sermon where he stated…
We often want things to go back to the way things used to be, before “work got difficult and faith got confused, and life got more confusing,” but when we dwell on the “if only” of life we forget that “God addresses us in the now.”
As Jesus told Mary not to hold on to the past, “You cannot go back.”
“It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back … for blacks to be back in the back of the bus … for women to be back in the kitchen … for immigrants to be back on their side of the border.”
“The message of Easter is about the power of love over loveless power.”
Speaking of “going back”, the morality of the left when dealing with infanticide takes a page out of Sparta. Infants who were deemed not worthy of survival were left to die outside the city-state in wilderness areas as fodder for wild animals.
Not much different from today’s leftist standards when it comes to late term abortions. Talk about “loveless power”.
The left has been ‘concerned’ with the shrinking US population, therefore we must ‘legalize’ all illegal aliens. Since Roe v. Wade, 90 million potential US citizens have been aborted. Isn’t Planned Parenthood awesome? According to Babs Boxer;
life begins when “you take the baby home from the hospital.”
I have news for Rev Leon, when it comes to black citizens, the only group keeping them as victims and at the “back of the bus” is the left. Out of phony compassion black citizens are treated as if they are all stupid by the left. Education standards are lower for black kids than any other group and they are constantly barraged with the ‘you are all victims’ meme. This is the way to keep a group of people ‘separate but, equal’. The left was and, still are, the architects of ‘separate but, equal’. Leftist policies destroyed the black family by insisting that only single mothers with children could occupy subsidized housing.
Did you know that women make up 54% of the US population? I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t feel ‘second class’ to me. When it comes to misogyny, the left wins it hands down. The ‘sexual and cultural revolution’ has done more harm to women than any work place competition will ever do. HIV is more prevalent among black women than any other group, STDs are more common across all classes of women then ever before. Frankly speaking, I don’t think this is what we would choose for our girls and young women to emulate.
President Barack Obama’s decision to launch his own political organization has some Democrats wondering: Is he just in it for himself?
Obama’s new group, Organizing for Action, will focus on his policy agenda – not on electing Democratic candidates – by raising unlimited amounts of cash and accessing the president’s secret list of 20 million supporters, volunteers and donors.
The operation won’t share money, resources or the priceless Obama email list with the Democratic National Committee or campaign committees that help elect members of Congress, governors and legislators. And it has no plans to coordinate efforts, leading some Democrats to worry that it will take money and manpower away from the party as it heads into the 2014 elections for control of Congress.
We told you so!
