Lynn's Little Nest

A fine site

Hoo boy…

Does anyone else think BO stepped in ‘it’ big time?

At the last stop of his California fundraising swing Thursday, Obama couldn’t help but take notice of California Attorney General Kamala Harris — and not just for her legislative work.

“She’s brilliant and she’s dedicated, she’s tough,” Obama said according to a pool report of the event. “She also happens to be, by far, the best looking attorney general …. It’s true! C’mon.”

MO is now self identifying as a “busy single mom” …..*gigglesnort*…..but, corrected herself by saying,

“You know, when you’ve got the husband who’s president, it can feel a little single, but he’s there,” she clarified of her husband, President Barack Obama.

Believe that was a warning? I certainly do.

The Gods of the Copybook Headings….

AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.

We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.

We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.

With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.”

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “The Wages of Sin is Death.”

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “If you don’t work you die.”

Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

Doesn’t it all sound familiar?

UPDATE; MO plants, and whines about her bangs “growing out”…..  LOL

Banging wigWhite part =  wighat!

  1. Kreuger says the unemployment situation is looking good

    Austen Goolsbee begs to differ
On CNBC Austan Goolsbee says that this jobs report is a “Punch to the Gut” and that it’s not a good jobs number (April 5, 2013).

  2. Yep, he is a misogynistic pig….always has been
Jonathan Chait of New York Magazine went further in a quick post on the publication’s Website.

“For those who don’t see a problem here, the degree to which women are judged by their appearance remains an important hurdle to gender equality in the workforce,” Chait wrote. “It’s not a compliment. And for a president who has become a cultural model for many of his supporters in so many other ways, the example he’s setting here is disgraceful.”

  3. Expose everyone else’s personal info….not theirs. How does it feel?

  4. Pardon me while I giggle at the Dedicated Followers of Fashion.
All the while Bush was in office, the left pushed the Grunge look- expensive clothes that made one look impoverished. That was no mistake, that was a sincere choice on the left to make the youth of America look like bag people, to make Bush look bad. “Our economy is so bad, look at what we must dress out youth in.”
Now the little chavs have no money to buy the latest trends, they look in their closets and moan that they don’t have anything to wear- all those nasty expensive clothes they could easily afford before Obama make them look poor, as they were meant to due under the Bush Administration.
Mooch is now pushing luxury! Luxury! Luxury! And none of her little sheep has a dime left to follow her trend. They ran out their credit cards in a bid to look like trash.

    • Give me a pair of Levi 501 blues any day!
One of the older boys was over and his jeans were that “style”. I laughed, my work jeans look like his but, as I told him, I earned those rips and tears. LOL 😀

      • Haha! My first pair of jeans were those! Faded flares were the fashion, but my dad chose to buy unfaded 501 straight legs as a gift for me. My mother wanted me to take them back, and get a trendy pair. No way! They were so different and made such a statement- at sixteen years old, I was the leader of the pack! I was the school’s first punk rocker without even trying.

        • Love them…button fly and all! Wear like iron and so comfortable… no jeans like them.

  5. Florida Democrats coordinated with national party organizations and consultants in early 2012 to gerrymander congressional districts despite a state ban on such activities, emails obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show.

‘They want to scoop as many Jews out of Tamarac and Sunrise as they can’
Top state and national party leaders worked to redraw congressional and legislative districts using demographic and performance data
Maps were specifically drawn up by party strategists to maximize Democratic performance in the state
Florida voters passed amendments banning lawmakers from drawing legislative and congressional districts with ‘intent to gerrymander

  6. $21,000 for basketball Shoot-A-Way ….our country is in the very best of hands

  7. The ‘war on women’ continues apace under Obama 😦

“Figures released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on Friday show that 315,000 women dropped out of the labor force in March.

According to BLS, the number of women not in the labor force grew to 49 million in March, up from 48.7 million in February, continuing a trend of women leaving the labor force in every month of 2013.”

Women and children hardest hit under Obamaconomics.

  8. Ladies, my heart is heart is breaking over the loss of Margaret Thatcher. The Cold War came to an end because of her, Reagan and Kohl. I’ve always looked up to her. Smart, independent, passionate- she had a pair. Ran circles around the men in Parliament. The world so needs more woman like her. RIP

    • Also want to credit Walesa amd Pope John Paul II for their the fall of the Soviet Union. Quite a group.

    • and, as a chemist, she helped invent soft serve ice cream!
She always gave the opposition a big what-for!

    • . Thatcher meant a lot to me, and I often use her quote about socialism and other people’s money. I loved her straightforwardness. I looked upon her as a success to emulate. She never let the b* steeds get her down.

      • I just started reading “Thatcher and Reagan: A Political Marriage.” If you admire her, it is worth reading. Nancy was right when she called them soulmates.

  9. Not a politician, but a long ago memory of growing up–Annette Funicello has passed away,0,5659102.story

    • She always seemed like a nice person. Never let her illness get her down. May she rest in eternal peace.

      • Here’s my brush with celebrity story.
In the nineties, I worked at the call center for a clothing company. Annette called with a complaint about a sweater (it was a popular style, but poorly made.) She and her husband were so sweet about it. She was very much like what she seemed, in every way.

    • That’s what convoluted thinking can cause.
      So funny! 😀
