No “Moral Obligation”

R-words and D-words alike call for a “compassionate” and “moral” fix to the problem of illegal aliens. I don’t see the “moral obligation” to help anyone who breaks the law by entering the country illegally. Rep King has it exactly right. Illegals are not “victims” and we do not owe them anything.

“Why do I have to do anything to solve a problem that people created willingly for themselves?”

They choose to come here illegally and live in the shadows. They are happy enough to take the risk of sneaking into the United States or overstaying their visa, sneaking around and using fraudulent documents to get a job or tapping into welfare and living here in the shadows for the balance of their lives. That was their best option; the worst would be prison or deportation.

The answer to that question is: I don’t have to do anything to fix that problem

300 Amendments, and waivers, only guarantees another mess. Why is it so hard for Congress to write a clean bill and pass it? When has it ever been okay to just ignore existing law and pick and choose which laws should be enforced? Our ‘betters’ on the Hill and in the West Wing are doing exactly that. The new immigration bill is like a block of swiss cheese, so full of holes as to make it a joke

The “Gang” legislation makes this process worse, however, by granting the Executive Branch wide ranging authority to wave away hundreds of specific requirements. The current “Gang” bill blocks members of criminal gangs from a path to citizenship, but allows DHS to waive that prohibition. Immigrants seeking citizenship have to show they work, but that requirement can also be waived. Immigrants seeking expedited citizenship status under the “Dream Act,” have to show 2 years of college instruction, except in cases where DHS rules that isn’t necessary.

Reform the current system and give some clarity to the legal immigration system. Stop giving taxpayer dollars to illegals in the form of welfare and, secure the border. We are not obligated to save or support illegals who knowingly break the law and sneak in to the US.  The cost of the “Gang” bill has been quoted as 6.3 trillion to implement. With all the loopholes, why bother to even have a new immigration bill? It’s all smoke and mirrors.

BO’s having another really terrible week. Must be hard to keep justifying all those illegal tactics they are using against conservatives and anyone else who gets in their way. Using the IRS as a political hammer to bludgeon any group or outspoken opponent points to lack of character and morals. But, in BO’s political realm of Chicago those are the kind of tactics used to win in a campaign. Well, that and getting court records unsealed to bludgeon his political opponents running for office. So, why is it a big surprise to anyone this current bunch in Big White would operate any differently then in the past? The IG’s report is damning to say the very least.

By June 2011, the unit had flagged over 100 Tea Party-related applications and the criteria used to scrutinize organizations had grown considerably, flagging not just “Tea Party” or “Patriot” in group names, but also groups that were working on issues like “government debt,” “taxes” and even organizations making statements that “criticize how the country is being run.”

The report, done by the Inspector General for the IRS, also shows that senior IRS officials in Washington was aware of what was going on as early as August 4, 2011 when, according to the report, the IRS chief counsel held a meeting with the IRS’s Rulings and Agreements unit “so that everyone would have the latest information on the issue.”

Holder and the DOJ are also in the mix this week.

“The Justice Department secretly obtained two months of telephone records of reporters and editors for The Associated Press in what the news cooperative’s top executive called a ‘massive and unprecedented intrusion’ into how news organizations gather the news,” the AP reported on Monday.

“The records obtained by the Justice Department listed incoming and outgoing calls, and the duration of each call, for the work and personal phone numbers of individual reporters, general AP office numbers in New York, Washington and Hartford, Conn., and the main number for AP reporters in the House of Representatives press gallery, according to attorneys for the AP. In all, the government seized those records for more than 20 separate telephone lines assigned to AP and its journalists in April and May of 2012.

Maybe it would have been smarter to not create an “enemies list” and then proceed to break the law to “punish” them. BO and his appointees are acting like mafia thugs intent on suppressing anyone who would investigate or speak out against them. Never, in my lifetime, have I ever been so disgusted and so furious at any sitting President of either party.

The good news; Gosnell is guilty of three counts of felony murder and one count of manslaughter. The jury got it right! Kudos to them for a job well done. Because of Gosnell, state health depts. all over the country are running around closing abortion clinics that are equivalent to the Gosnell clinic. Planned Parenthood must be very unhappy. Those are the clinics they refer women to who are seeking abortions, mostly poor or minorities. The people at Planned Parenthood have no shame, just excuses.

It’s going to be an exciting week, we get to see who blinks first.

  1. Liberals take note….if BO can’t convince you, he will try to confuse you. He really does think you are stupid.

  2. Annie's Mom

Re the 800+ page immigration bill…a hidden biometric database of all Americans?

  3. Blamer-in-Chief at it again…at 3 DNC fundraisers in NY on Monday…..what a loon

  4. This is a story even the most partisan Massachusetts liberal cannot defend. It’s so bad that even Ed Markey is calling for heads to roll.

Dems vow: ‘Hell to pay’ if IRS allegations ring true

  5. The EPA is up to its eyeballs too in using its power ….as Jefferson said
A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have….BO’s government is that.

  6. I loved listening to the Carney presser today….gigglesnort
All of a sudden the…. *ahem*…. journolists are sort -of -outraged by the shenanigans of the administration. LOL
Stomping all over their First Amendment rights but, not yours, causing major concern.

  7. The crack is growing into a fissure….
[Obama’s aloof mien and holier-than-thou rhetoric have left him with little reservoir of good will, even among Democrats. And the press, after years of being accused of being soft on Obama while being berated by West Wing aides on matters big and small, now has every incentive to be as ruthless as can be.]

This White House’s instinctive petulance, arrogance and defensiveness have all worked together to isolate Obama at a time when he most needs a support system. “It feel like they don’t know what they’re here to do,” a former senior Obama administration official said. “When there’s no narrative, stuff like this consumes you.”

  8. [A State Department spokeswoman wrote in the email that information about prior warnings should not be included in the points because members of Congress could use it “to beat up the State Department for not paying attention to warnings,” ABC News reported.]

I know Politico just hated to publish this one. 😀

  9. According to breaking news…Big White releasing emails pertaining to Benghazi.
    Guess Axeman got to them.

  10. Gratuitous statement on IRS resignation….BO is such a liar!!! This should go viral….

“Steven Miller, the now resigned acting commissioner of the IRS, is telling staff that the abuse scandal is not the reason he’s leaving.

It is with regret that I will be departing from the IRS as my acting assignment ends in early June,’ Miller wrote. “This has been an incredibly difficult time for the IRS given the events of the past few days, and there is a strong and immediate need to restore public trust in the nation’s tax agency.”

Basically, he’s saying that he’s just leaving a couple weeks early, no big deal. Incredible.

The president’s big statement today was a big nothing as far as accountability goes. The only head that has rolled was already scheduled to roll even if the scandal had never come up. It now looks like Obama came out with that statement for two reasons: To look like he was doing something useful, and to bully Republicans not to aggressively pursue the scandal”

  11. Would You Believe The Administration Got Phone Records of The House Of Representatives?
It just keeps piling up….is there anything BO and his thugs won’t do?

  12. Cracks me up! Tingles freaks out…..

[“What part of the presidency does Obama like? He doesn’t like dealing with other politicians — that means his own cabinet, that means members of the congress, either party. He doesn’t particularly like the press…. He likes to write the speeches, likes to rewrite what Favreau and the others wrote for the first draft,” Matthews said.

“So what part does he like? He likes going on the road, campaigning, visiting businesses like he does every couple days somewhere in Ohio or somewhere,” Matthews continued. “But what part does he like? He doesn’t like lobbying for the bills he cares about. He doesn’t like selling to the press. He doesn’t like giving orders or giving somebody the power to give orders. He doesn’t seem to like being an executive.”]

  13. Ohio State Attorney General to investigate IRS in Cincinnati (Hamilton County) for illegalities.
For some strange reason I do not think BO will get much sleep tonite… 😀
