Substituting

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/06/massive-protests-continue-in-turkey-against-erdogan-government-video/

Just substitute where necessary, our complaints are much the same as theirs. When the heavy hand of government is used to silence its citizens, when the press is in the pocket of those in power and does not report in a balanced way, when those with differing political views are treated as the “enemy” by those in power, we all have a problem. Each and everyone of us, no matter what political affiliation, should resent that government and its overreaching arrogance. While the left may cheer the current administration and its executives, they should well remember that power does change hands. Setting unethical and unlawful precedents can absolutely backfire on them.

  1. Instead, Mr Blair urges governments to ‘be honest’ and admit that the problem is more widespread.

‘There is a problem within Islam – from the adherents of an ideology which is a strain within Islam,’ he writes.

‘We have to put it on the table and be honest about it. Of course there are Christian extremists and Jewish, Buddhist and Hindu ones. But I am afraid this strain is not the province of a few extremists. It has at its heart a view about religion and about the interaction between religion and politics that is not compatible with pluralistic, liberal, open-minded societies.’

He adds: ‘At the extreme end of the spectrum are terrorists, but the world view goes deeper and wider than it is comfortable for us to admit. So by and large we don’t admit it.’

If Blair gets it, why can’t BO? time to call a spade a spade….

  2. Shame on my fellow Ohioans for doing this…..substituting professionalism for unethical targeting….nothing like stooping to the lowest common denominator.
“In an exclusive interview Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley, Republican Rep. Darrell Issa said interviews with workers in the Cincinnati IRS office show targeting of conservative groups was “a problem that was coordinated in all likelihood right out of Washington headquarters – and we’re getting to proving it.”

  3. YEP, these are BO’s sins……

“In the end, Holder was the best witness against his continuing in office. His insistence that he did nothing was a telling moment. The attorney general has done little in his tenure to protect civil liberties or the free press. Rather, Holder has supervised a comprehensive erosion of privacy rights, press freedom and due process. This ignoble legacy was made possible by Democrats who would look at their shoes whenever the Obama administration was accused of constitutional abuses.

On Thursday, Obama responded to the outcry over the AP and Fox scandals by calling for an investigation by … you guessed it … Eric Holder. He ordered Holder to meet with news media representatives to hear their “concerns” and report back to him. He sent his old sin eater for a confab with the very targets of the abusive surveillance. Such an inquiry offers no reason to trust its conclusions.

The feeble response was the ultimate proof that these are Obama’s sins despite his effort to feign ignorance. It did not matter that Holder is the sin eater who has lost his stomach or that such mortal sins are not so easily digested. Indeed, these sins should be fatal for any attorney general.”

  4. When will the gov decide to “clamp down” on mosques which encourage American youth to join terror groups?

  5. Carole

Old Barry gets it about the Islamic terrorists. He is “attached” to their Islamic beliefs and is part of the process to distroy America and is the puppet on the string as Val Jarr pulls the strings to make old Barry dance to the tune of “treason” and ‘Islamic hatred” of the American people, especially the christian belivers.

  6. At least the Ottoman Empire lasted for four hundred years, and was inclusive.
The new Islam is really devoted to worldwide dominance and is no longer a ‘religion’,
    imo.

    • 30% of the Syrian population was Christian…..the Muslim rebels are wiping them out along with the Druze and Alawites
Egypt is a mess with the Coptic Christians being burned out and slaughtered.
I won’t even begin to tell you how many Jews were driven out of ME countries with little more than the clothes on their backs, their lands confiscated, their wealth confiscated by Muslims.
Turkey is becoming an Islamist State with the crackdown by Erdogan…..where is the UN and the US?….appeasing the most fanatic parts of Islam.

  7. “Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli was a remarkable human being – a role model to whom we all owe a debt of eternal gratitude”

O/T…..but well worth the read….Righteous among the Nations

Fifty years ago, on June 3, 1963, a great and brave friend of the Jewish people passed away. Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli was born into a modest Italian family. He reached the summit of the Catholic hierarchy and died as Pope John XXIII, but he was fondly nicknamed “the Good Pope”.
