Friday Bits and Pieces

The bringers of chaos are at it again….. you know the ones we formerly called the media. Those who consider themselves much more “enlightened” are labeling everyone whose opinions and experiences are much different then theirs. Why does the left insist on labeling people? Chris Matthews is one of the worst offenders when it comes to labels and linguistic gymnastics, calling Senator Ted Cruz a “political terrorist”. As far as we know Cruz hasn’t killed anyone, nor has he displayed any predilection to becoming a terrorist. But, that doesn’t stop Matthews creepy and unjustified pronouncement. Maybe the pompous ass should look up the definition of “terrorist”.

It is Mr. Matthews who is seeking to cause chaos, in particular linguistic chaos, by his muddled accusation and even more muddled definition in defense of his accusation.

A moment’s thought might have saved Mr. Matthews from this catalogue of errors, but as Housman remarked, thought is a painful process and a moment is a long time.

You’ll be thrilled to know legislators and their staff are now exempt from Obamacare. They all like their plan and the bringers of chaos want to keep their plan which all taxpayers subsidize. If that doesn’t turn the Senate from blue to red, I don’t know what will. Yes, the House should vote to defund Obamacare for the rest of us. If it isn’t good for the goose, it isn’t good for the gander.

The White House has approved a deal that will exempt members of Congress and their staff from some of the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, Politico reported late Thursday. Under the law, popularly referred to as Obamacare, lawmakers and their aides were required to source health insurance “created” by the law or offered through one of its exchanges, and without the subsidies they currently enjoy, the members of Congress would have faced thousands of dollars in additional premium payments each year, the report said. However, the Office of Personnel Management now plans to rule that the government can continue to make a contribution to the health-care premiums of the lawmakers and their staff, it said, citing unnamed congressional sources and a White House official.

OFA is now begging for people to sign up for their “Truth Team”. Their reasoning is quite simplistic, and mostly false.

It’s not that they have a better idea to protect people’s health — it’s that they see Obamacare as a significant policy victory for our President, and they want to do everything they can to undermine that. Same old pattern: hurt the President even if it hurts the country.

So, isn’t it “hurting” the Preezy’s policy by giving waivers to Federal employees who like their health care and get to keep it courtesy of US taxpayers?

Tapper reports on the “phony scandal” we call Benghazi….bombshell brought to you by the letters C, I, and  A.

5:06 PM – 1 Aug 2013

More on the other “phony scandal” brought to you by the letters I, R, S and the letters F, E, C.

** At least 292 conservative groups targeted
** At least 5 pro-Israel groups targeted
** Constitutional groups targeted
** Groups that criticized Obama administration were targeted
** At least two pro-life groups targeted
** A Texas voting-rights group was targeted
** Conservative activists and businesses were targeted.
** At least 88 IRS agents were involved in the targeting scandal
** At least one conservative Hispanic group was targeted
** No liberal groups suffered the same type of scrutiny from the IRS – Not one

One would think the bringers of chaos would become more enlightened by realizing they, and the current government, are the reason why very few trust in government or political parties or the media to do the right thing for all of us or even to report it honestly to the American public.

  1. Yes, BO went there…..what happened to the “I was raised a poor black child” meme he and MO have whined about for the last 4.5 years?

The president said he’s worried that his children are bombarded by media depictions of celebrity and wealth, and worried that the American dream of stability and homeownership has been replaced with unrealistic expectations.

This as they prepare for their vacation at a $7.6 million Martha’s Vineyard mansion. But hey, they’re grounded or something knowing that their father’s too cheap to throw a few bucks to his hut-dwelling relatives.

But he said that for his daughters, “one of the advantages we have” is family members “who are poor” and can illustrate the how those not enjoying the perks of the executive mansion live.

“Malia and Sasha have cousins who know what it’s like to struggle and know what it’s like to have to scrape by,” he said. “They know that those kids are just as worthy as they are, they just haven’t had as much luck.”

  2. Charlie Rangle has officially lost his mind…..

The Tea Party? Defeat them the same way segregation was beaten. “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked. It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break.”

Why isn’t he speaking out about the 41% unemployment rate among young black men and women?

  3. NPR charts the IRS …numbers based on report from House Ways and Means….IRS and FEC so totally busted!

  4. Chief Ray Kelley being “considered for DHS head”…..Muslims having a hissy fit

  5. “Al Qaeda is decimated and on the run”…..Preezy told us that…..he lied

  6. Congress can take away entitlements…, food stamps for illegals, housing subsidies for illegals…..anything they want….

  7. Congress has “the power” to defund Obamacare…. yes they do! (See above comment)

[Obamacare is NOT immune to defunding

That is the notion perpetuated by the Congressional Research Service and Obamacare defenders that due to some mysterious power, Obamacare is immune to defunding.

Citing a recent CRS report, for example, Sarah Kliff of the Washington Post earlier this week observed that Obamacare contains lots of “mandatory funding,” which is “billions in federal dollars that were appropriated by the Affordable Care Act and can’t be touched without repealing Obamacare itself.”

Kliff goes on to point out that “the tax subsidies to purchase health insurance, for example, are considered mandatory funds. ‘Therefore, the funds for such credits would continue to be available via permanent appropriation during a government shutdown,’ CRS concludes.”

    Utter nonsense

But that is utter nonsense because there is no such thing under the Constitution as “mandatory funds.” Much as Obamacare’s defenders want everybody to believe there is such a thing as mandatory spending under entitlement programs, the truth is that what Congress appropriates, it can just as easily un-appropriate.

All that is required is insertion of these words: “Notwithstanding any other law or regulation, no funds hereby authorized shall be expended for ……”]

  8. Oh look, some in the LSM have come to the conclusion there is a “Benghazi scandal” after all………. Thanks to Jake Tapper……and Sharyl Atkinsson (sp?) who was relentless

  9. conner43

I am convinced that Matthews is bi polar, probably diabetic too, due to alcoholism..MSNbeecee needs to force him to retire and then get someone to monitor his meds.. He is a slo-mo train wreck, and while fascinating to watch, for about a minute, Phil Griffin should bring his career to a compassionate halt before he starts wetting himself in public.
