obamawarrior   ‘Smart diplomacy’ hasn’t worked so well for the Progs. As a matter of fact, it’s lying in tatters at the feet of all those who thought entrusting an unseasoned candidate with the reins of US power was a “smart” thing to do. We were told time and time again that electing BO would bring world peace, with every country working together toward harmony, BO even believed that propaganda (Remember his ‘This is the Moment’ speech?) At the time it sounded ridiculous and self aggrandizing. Now, after 4.5 years of slovenly governing, operating like a robber baron, and, generally being divisive, he wants backing from the very people he has been deriding and blaming for his poor policies. In 2007 we were assured this man was right for the times we faced. All he had to do was show his face on the world stage and the ‘everything-will-be-hunky-dory” set told us peace and prosperity would ensue, the world would love us again.

Democrats Suddenly Realize What They Miscalculated About the World: Everything

Consider this hypothetical. It’s November 2008. A young Pakistani Muslim is watching television and sees that this man—Barack Hussein Obama—is the new face of America. In one simple image, America’s soft power has been ratcheted up not a notch, but a logarithm. A brown-skinned man whose father was an African, who grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii, who attended a majority-Muslim school as a boy, is now the alleged enemy. If you wanted the crudest but most effective weapon against the demonization of America that fuels Islamist ideology, Obama’s face gets close. It proves them wrong about what America is in ways no words can.

So, the color of his skin and his middle name, Hussein, were all that was needed to ‘heal the planet’ and turn our enemies into friends?

They looked out at the world at the end of the Bush years, and didn’t see tough decisions, unsolvable problems, unstable institutions, restless populations, technology enabling the impulse to destabilize existing institutions, evil men hungry for more power, and difficult trade-offs. No, our problems and challengers were just a matter of the previous hands running U.S. foreign policy not being smart enough.

Their “smart power” approach is a massive failure. Tell me what Clinton accomplished in her four years as SOS?  OK, she flew “a million miles” but, what did all that mileage accomplish?  Absolutely nothing!  She ran her cankles off, looking as if she was out of her league and, doing busy work. The ‘smart set’ now occupying the White House are running the country like an amateur hour sitcom.

The whole “reset button” ceremony with Hillary Clinton and Russia’s Sergey Lavrov was a formal commemoration of the incoming administration’s naïveté. The “famously stormy” relationship between Condi Rice and Lavrov was not a matter of Rice not being diplomatic enough or nice enough or trying hard enough. It reflected that Vladimir Putin and most of Russia’s highest levels of government defined their interests as opposing our interests.

The hypocrisy and elitism of the left are the reasons I left the Dem Party. I see it on the local level every single day. They don’t like the poor and certainly don’t want to mingle with them. And yet, the very people they do not want in their neighborhoods are the people who vote for them. One of my dearest friends is head of the Democrat Central Committee. He’s so disgusted with the “Party” he’s quitting. I was happy for him even though it was a very difficult decision for him. But, as I told him when I quit the ‘Party’, no one should be so invested in any political party that they lose sight of who they are and what is right. The Dems and Progs have become the Party of Arrogance. And, please, do not call them the “Democratic” Party, there’s nothing democratic about them anymore.  I find it very hard to be grateful for a Commander In Chief who is lauded for just ‘being’ and getting out of bed every morning. He isn’t “smart”, he’s devious in the most cringeworthy way. He owns the Syrian mess he’s created with his ‘red line’, the Obamawarrior peeks out and fears his own shadow…..

A gentle reminder to all Dems;

“[Russia] is without question our number one geopolitical foe, they fight for every cause for the world’s worst actors.” – Mitt Romney, March 26, 2012.

  1. No ‘redline’ here….move along…..heard in Sweden….

First of all, I didn’t set a red line,” said Obama. “The world set a red line. The world set a red line when governments representing 98 percent of the world’s population said the use of chemical weapons are [inaudble] and passed a treaty forbidding their use, even when countries are engaged in war. Congress set a red line when it ratified that treaty. Congress set a red line when it indicated that in a piece of legislation entitled the Syria Accountability Act that some of the horrendous things happening on the ground there need to be answered for. So, when I said in a press conference that my calculus about what’s happening in Syria would be altered by the use of chemical weapons, which the overwhelming consensus of humanity says is wrong, that wasn’t something I just kind of made up. I didn’t pluck it out of thin air. There’s a reason for it.”

    • Oh dear, now every word is to be parsed and bargained over.
It’s more difficult to not have a party line, it makes it so you have to sit down with each issue and discover your true feelings over each one, but I’m the better for it.
I feel, from my own research, not what any man in a tie is telling me, that Syria is a powder keg. I have an unfounded fondness towards Israel, and I don’t want anything awful to happen to it or its people.
I’m also bothered by chemical weapons being used in Syria, if this is true as presented.
I wish I had more true facts to go by, as I’m watching Kerry’s presentation on TV and find myself thinking, not about whether a strike is valid or not, but “What is each man’s business agenda?” What does each man gain by his stance that he takes?

OWS may hate big business, but at least their Capitalist Agenda is pure- i make this, you buy it. With government, I know longer sense that any of them, (except perhaps for the unfortunately tressed Rand Paul,) is “For the people”.

      • Well, we’re for “the people”, all of them, not factions or voting groups. That says a lot about who we are. Self interest rules the day for most of our pols, and lots of cash coming in. Plus the get wealthy scheming because of insider info. I can’t remember being this disappointed.

        • Disappointment! Yes.
What good man would go to work in that cesspool that is Politics today? If there were such a man, he’d either be destroyed or fall into the sewage like all the otheres.

          • I think we had a real chance at an honest man in Mitt Romney. I wasn’t a huge Mitt fan, but I do believe he was a good, decent man….such a far cry from this crap. It’d be funny if it weren’t so pathetic…the Universe drew a Red Line. 🙂

            • I thought the Universe might not step up…. *whew*
