The ‘Spite House’

the-spite-house-logoPreezy is coming in at a 37% approval rating. He richly deserves less but, the “true believers” are still betting on the ever fictitious “hope and change”. Civil disobedience is on the rise, Americans have a habit of correcting government overreach. Now, BO says he’s “willing to talk” as long as he gets what he wants from the R-words.

Bo is nothing more than a “tin-pot dictator” according to Ed Driscoll at PJ Media

Gestapo tactics at Yellowstone have foreign tourists terrified along with their very angry American counterparts.

Vaillancourt was one of thousands of people who found themselves in a national park as the federal government shutdown went into effect on Oct. 1. For many hours her tour group, which included senior citizen visitors from Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States, were locked in a Yellowstone National Park hotel under armed guard.

The tourists were treated harshly by armed park employees, she said, so much so that some of the foreign tourists with limited English skills thought they were under arrest.   [snip]

The bus stopped along a road when a large herd of bison passed nearby, and seniors filed out to take photos. Almost immediately, an armed ranger came by and ordered them to get back in, saying they couldn’t “recreate.” The tour guide, who had paid a $300 fee the day before to bring the group into the park, argued that the seniors weren’t “recreating,” just taking photos.

“She responded and said, ‘Sir, you are recreating,’ and her tone became very aggressive,” Vaillancourt said.

The seniors quickly filed back onboard and the bus went to the Old Faithful Inn, the park’s premier lodge located adjacent to the park’s most famous site, Old Faithful geyser. That was as close as they could get to the famous site — barricades were erected around Old Faithful, and the seniors were locked inside the hotel, where armed rangers stayed at the door.

“They looked like Hulk Hogans, armed. They told us you can’t go outside,” she said. “Some of the Asians who were on the tour said, ‘Oh my God, are we under arrest?’ They felt like they were criminals.”

Looks as if some journalists are coming to their senses. Why the Reviled Tea Party Was Right, not just about Obamacare, but getting our fiscal house in order.

In the midst of the economic crisis, the government went on a spending spree, shelling out hundreds of billions for TARP, Cash for Clunkers, the Stimulus – the list seemed endless. Our nation’s debt and deficits soared; the financial crisis became a fiscal crisis. And then came Obamacare. President Obama’s signature healthcare bill promised even higher deficits (no one but Paul Krugman believed you could provide free healthcare to 30 million people and save money), more government intrusion, and possible chaos. The Tea Party was born.

and this from American Thinker;

The  former laughter and ridicule heaped at the GOP has turned to silence.  It  turns out that Republicans were right after all.  They tried doing the  right thing for all the American people, despite being demonized and viciously  attacked. “I  was laughing at Boehner — until the mail came today,” Waschura said, referring  to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund  Obamacare.

“I  really don’t like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why  they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family’s pocket  each year, that’s otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local  economy.”

As  Winston Churchill so wisely observed, “socialism is a philosophy of failure, the  creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal  sharing of misery.”

Obamacare’s Financial Unraveling: Predictable, and Predicted read it all

But despite its supporters’ hopes, the 2010 legislation was fiscally reckless, markedly increasing the government’s already-unsustainable health spending commitments at a time of record deficits. Three years later, the fiscal harm stemming from the ACA is as bad as-and even worse than-many experts predicted. The problem lies with the nature of the law itself, promising trillions in new government benefits while relying on dubious financing mechanisms. These problems were not only foreseeable, they were indeed widely foreseen.

I have been very busy the last few days helping out a Sudanese (legal immigrants) family. Mika is a teacher, they have spent 11 years under refugee status in Kenya. His wife lost her first husband to Bashir. Unlike the illegal aliens, who are placed above the legal immigrants, they are having some difficulty in understanding why they have to keep jumping through hoops for the Fed. Mika doesn’t understand why the illegals don’t have to jump through the same hoops and why the same demands he has to fulfill aren’t required of them.  Mika is being forced to take a GED class, his teaching credentials are not accepted, nor his educational background. Believe it or not, he thinks black Americans are more racist than whites because they treat real black Afrikaners like outcasts and feel superior to them. Who knew?   According to him, the loathsome Al Shabaab has taken over 25% of the Kenyan government.

Which brings me to this; Union Boss: Enforcing Law, Deporting Illegal Immigrants a ‘Moral Tragedy’

National Education Association (NEA) executive director John Stocks decried law enforcement efforts to enforce United States immigration laws by deporting illegal immigrants in remarks at a union-sponsored rally on the National Mall on Tuesday. [snip]

“Every day in America, thousands of students are denied the American dream because of their legal status,” Stocks said. “Every day in America thousands of students don’t know if they will come home to find their parents. This is a moral tragedy, an injustice to the more than 3 million members of my union, the National Education Association.”

The real tragedy is acknowledging illegal aliens instead of the law. They are criminals, not victims. As far as I am concerned they should be deported, along with their children, sisters and brothers and, cousins by the dozens, back to their own countries. No matter which country they come from, they have broken the law. Using the National Mall for a demonstration for “amnesty” while our own people are being blocked and Barry-caded from entry makes me despise them and those Congress Critters who joined them even more.

  1. Beyond despicable….
These men are employed by the government to ensure that a priest is available when an active duty Catholic Chaplain is not present,” said John Schlageter, general counsel for the archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. “With the government shutdown, many GS and contract priests who minister to Catholics on military bases worldwide are not permitted to work – not even to volunteer. “

“During the shutdown, it is illegal for them to minister on base and they risk being arrested if they attempt to do so,” said Schlageter.

  2. Not just despicable but criminally so…..

So why can’t Hagel continue paying death benefits to the families of U.S. troops who were killed in action after Sept. 30? He can, says House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). “Last week, the Congress passed the Pay Our Military Benefits Act. We gave broad authority to the Department of Defense to pay all kinds of bills, including this. And frankly, I think it’s disgraceful that they’re withholding these benefits,” Boehner said at a news conference on Tuesday. Boehner said the House “is going to act specifically on this” on Wednesday — “and I hope the president will sign it.”

  3. I am so sick of the lies, the “the sky is falling if we don’t spend/raise the debt limit/etc”, chatter/attitude coming from this admin. More and more I am reading that if we don’t raise the debt limit, so what? We have more than enough money coming in via taxes to pay the interest on our debt, so the balance will just be rolled over. This madness of crazy spending must stop. I think this partial “shutdown” is great. Fire permanently those gov leeches, I mean workers, who got furloughed. Why do we have 800,000 extra non-essential workers anyway??? Scale back the size of gov, reappropriate spending, clean house. I heard that the pentagon has a ton of discretionary $$ that they can move around and spend any way they deem necessary, so these cuts of death benefits to the military families should never have happened. I think it is coming straight from the top, to inflict as much pain as possible to the people. Completely disgraceful and disgusting. And why haven’t I heard more from the Catholic church regarding the situation w/ the priests? The rest of the Christian chaplaincy better sit up and take notice. If the Catholics are being treated this way, it is just a matter of time before Protestant priests/pastors will also be denied performing sacraments or ministering to the military. I really hope that the events of this coming weekend scare the hell out of washington. Truckers, vets, bikers, etc. That should send a loud message to everyone in DC that Americans are really pissed off with the way things are. I won’t be able to go to DC, but I will do my part and not buy anything this weekend to show support. Sorry, I know I am bouncing all around with different thoughts, but it is 4:45am, and I am not completely awake yet. So glad that that there are so many problems with the new healthcare roll out. Maybe that is some divine intervention? I hope that with the problems associated with ACA, as well as lots of people finally waking up as to the reality of the situation, I really hope that hardly anyone signs up for it and it comes crashing down. The dems and the admin OWN this healthcare crap, let it burn.

    • I think they really screwed up on the withholding of the death benefits. They are so out of touch with the folks, they didn’t realize all hell would hit the fan. We were all aghast that they would shut down the National Mall (except for one illegal immigrant rally…don’t get me started on that one) and the sight of WWII vets in wheelchairs that were blocked from their memorial. Shortly on the heels of that news comes this…and news of a charity that rescued the government. While I’m thankful that Fisher House will cover these benefits, I’m horrified that it came to that. We need a damn charity to cover the cost for 23 veterans who died since the shutdown started…a measly $100,000 each? I guess I don’t have a word that expresses my feelings on this….beyond shameful.

      • It’s been a screw up since the 2008 election…..
I can think of lots of words….petty, ignorant, un-American, ugly, disgusting, tawdry, deliberate, small minded twits, incompetent, …and other words not fit to print.

      • I hope they don’t go after him like the goons they are.
Let’s face it, we’re a part of this fiasco- whenever we have a druggie, loser incompetent blockhead in the family that we all know is incapable of holding even a fries job, what do we say? “there’s always a government job.”
We’ve jammed our system with the most undesirable leeches from our own people to the point a woodcarver can do a better lawn job that the government stooges with all of their fancy tax paid equipment.
It’s time we be honest with our druggy idiots and send them to dishwashing schools, so they don’t infiltrate our Fed.

        • He’s emptied hundreds of trash cans….carrying the SC flag on his shoulder….. I call that the “power of one”. 😀

          • He was interviewed this morning of Fox…I don’t remember who conducted the interview, but at the end he was given an opportunity to plug his own business. The man refused to give his web address…said this wasn’t about him but he wanted all the focus to be on folks volunteering to get stuff done. He’s a helluva guy!

  4. Kathy and Annie’s Mom….we need a complete do-over and make-over….read it all

I think America is becoming sick and tired of being lectured by some young pompadour who made a billion dollars in Silicon Valley and therefore deems himself Socrates; by some ossified Washington Sixties-era careerist who believes the laws that he passes simply cannot apply to himself and his kind; and by some crusading hip talking-head whose self-absorbed material aspirations and values make the 1950s suburbanite seem bohemian in comparison.
