Fun things

Making fun of O-Care is so easy. But, this bunch left the door wide open for ridicule by lying to the American people and doing their best to cover their collective a**es by lying some more. Nothing is so pathetic as a sitting Preezy trying to cover up his lies by telling more lies. So, to make sure we all ‘understand’ O-Care, he is ‘campaigning’ again to  explain why this ugliness is not his fault and … fund raise at two events.

Obama is focused on delivering on the law’s promises and is “not concerned about the politics of that,” Carney told reporters traveling with the president to Dallas, where he will thank volunteers helping inform communities about the law before speaking at two fundraisers for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

But it’s not that Obama is ignoring the politics of the situation. He just believes that the delivery of “access to affordable, quality health care … is a policy that makes for good politics,” Carney said. “That’s why he’s focused on good policy and he believes that from that, supporters can take heart.”

So, the ‘supporters’ in the Senate, up for re-election, don’t seem to be very heartened by this enormously popular policy. In fact they are freaking out! Meeting with BO, they want him to stop the ‘cancellations’ of millions of healthcare policies, roll back the penalties, and in general save them from themselves and their vote for O-Care. My how times and politics have changed them. I can see 2014 from my house, let them explain to their voters why they thought this was the grandest idea of all time.  Obama Holds Secret Meeting With Senate Democrats Up for Reelection

President Barack Obama heard an earful at the White House Wednesday from Senate Democrats running for re-election next year who are fuming about the Affordable Care Act’s rocky rollout.

During a two-hour meeting that was not on the president’s public schedule, the president met with 15 Senate Democrats facing the voters next year, as well as Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Michael Bennet, D-Colo.

Sen. Mark Begich of Alaska issued a release after the meeting torching the administration.

“It is simply unacceptable for Alaskans to bear the brunt of the Administration’s mismanagement of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and that is the message U.S. Senator Mark Begich delivered to President Obama today,” his office said in a statement blasted to reporters.

The release went on to say that Begich complained about “an unworkable website, technical glitches and inaccurate information about peoples’ individual situations. Begich demanded the administration fix the problems immediately so Alaskans, including the 55,000 eligible for subsidies to lower monthly premiums, can realize the many benefits due to them as a result of the health reform law.

“Alaskans should be appreciating the critical benefits of the Affordable Care Act but there is an understandable crisis in confidence because the administration has yet to get it off the ground,” Begich said.

These Senate Democrats all voted for Obamacare. They own it. All the “demand” will not fix this and those asshats know it. The 300 million Landrieu (sp?) got from Reid for her vote should be a reminder to everyone of the fraudulent ways this mess was passed to begin with, behind closed doors and in the dead of night. Never forget the rubbing- our -noses- in -it attitude of House members (Pelosi, Lewis, Cummings et al) as they marched arm in arm while thousands protested the destruction of our health care system. That huge gavel Pelosi carried was a warning to all of us we were about to be crushed under O-Care. At least those in the middleclasses.  Now, BO is whining it is those horrific insurance companies to ‘blame’ for O-Care being a big mess. WaPo is having none of it!  The White House effort to blame insurance companies for lost plans

The Pinocchio Test

Blaming the insurance companies can only go so far. First of all, the administration wrote the rules that set the conditions under which plans lose their grandfather status. But more important, the law has an effective date so far in the past that it virtually guaranteed that the vast majority of people currently in the individual market would end up with a notice saying they needed to buy insurance on the Obamacare exchanges.

The administration’s effort to pin the blame on insurance companies is a classic case of misdirection. Between 75 and 95 percent of the problem stems from the effective date, but the White House chooses to keep the focus elsewhere.

Three Pinocchios

The Liar-in-Chief hoisted on his own petard…..hubris followed by crash and burn….

open thread….

  1. “During the drafting of the health-care law, insurance companies had wanted to extend the effective date for grandfathered plans until Dec. 31, 2013, which would have meant that few at this moment would be complaining that they had lost a plan they liked. Of course, that would have also meant fewer potential customers for the Obamacare exchanges in the first year.”

Basically Sebelius tweaked the rules to make sure plans would be cancelled and shove O-Care down people’s throats.

  2. When the ‘other shoe drops’…..

What everyone does not know — because it has not been widely reported — is that in attempting to respond to the “you can keep them” lie the White House has been repeating a second big lie just as serious as the first: that “only a fraction of the population” (Carney), “fewer than 5 per cent” (Obama), are the only victims, that the approximately 80% who get their insurance from their employer, union, or government program will in fact be able to keep their insurance.

No, they will not, and the administration and its Democratic supporters know they will not. Although recent attention has been focused on all the individual insurance holders losing coverage, the administration’s 2010 rules were written to undermine employer-provided insurance as well. John Hinderaker of the Powerline blog has looked at those rules and found that the intent was clear:

The bottom line is that the administration expected 51% of all employer plans to be terminated as a result of Obamacare. That is the mid-range estimate; the high-end estimate was 69%. So as of 2010, the Obama administration planned that most Americans with employer-sponsored health care plans would lose them, whether they liked those plans or not….

The administration never intended to allow any American to keep a non-Obamacare insurance policy for any length of time.

  3. My favorite moment in the Sebelius hearings… 😀

“In short, Madam Secretary, I believe you were given advice, counsel and warning from experts inside your agency and out that the health care exchanges were not going to be ready. Furthermore, I believe to protect the administration, you chose to ignore these warnings, and as a result, you have put our entire health care system and one-sixth of our economy in jeopardy.” (See the CSPAN clip.)

“You have said America should hold you for — accountable, which is why today, Madam Secretary, I repeat my request for you to resign,” he said.

Mrs. Sebelius looked stony-faced throughout Sen. Roberts’s comments. She didn’t respond.

He first called for her resignation last month in a statement. This time he did it to her face.

  4. Yes, indeed, it’s ALL about ‘him’…..

“Instead of acting like a leader and the President of the United States, Barack Obama’s first impulse was to cast himself as the victim.

In an interview with NBC Political Director Chuck Todd aired on this evening’s NBC Nightly News, President Obama said that “I’ve been burned by a website.””

  5. Chief tech officer at HHS resigns — after failing to sign off on security for in September

He knew it was all a lie too….secure site my a**

  6. Never one to disappoint, MO imagines she’s a Disney princess, dressed in her ball gown, and twirling, and twirling…

    • That’s just creepy…..Mirror, Mirror on the wall…..*snicker*
