Foreign Policy Mess
We have BO to thank for this too. Khameini wants to “punch John Kerry’s face“, the Saudis snub a Congressional Delegation, and Syria has given up less than 5% of their chemical stockpile. via the Examiner
The snub stems from Saudi anger over what they see as President Obama’s weak response to the Syrian civil war and U.S. attempts to get a nuclear deal with Iran, according to the staffer. The Iranian negotiations are most troubling to the Saudis, according to the aide, saying they think Obama is being “shortsighted” in his strategy for preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
Gulf Arab states have been watching with grave concern Obama’s hopes to negotiate an end to Iran’s nuclear program, even as the regime gets closer to obtaining a weapon. Many, especially Saudi Arabia, see Iran’s ambitions as an existential threat.
No one in the ME trusts the Administration or the State Dept, No one. In the meantime, Lebanon is under attack as well, both from inside and outside.
Iran on Thursday dismissed as “unrealistic and unconstructive” comments by US President Barack Obama that international sanctions linked to its nuclear programme had forced Tehran to the negotiating table.
“The delusion of sanctions having an effect on Iran’s motivation for nuclear negotiations is based on a false narration of history,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham was quoted as saying by state broadcaster IRIB.

Again the Keystone Pipeline gets a pass. There are no major environmental problems, just 40,000 jobs on the line.
A key State Department review gave the long-delayed Keystone XL pipeline a major boost on Friday, raising no major environmental objections — in a report that immediately cranked up pressure on the Obama administration to approve it.
“This report from the Obama administration once again confirms that there is no reason for the White House to continue stalling construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline,” Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement. “So, Mr. President, no more stalling — no more excuses.”

About that Russian nuke deal; Obama Knew Russia Was Cheating on 1987 Treaty When He Proposed New Arms Cuts in Berlin
The revelation of Russia’s cheating–and President Obama’s tolerance for it–is crucial for two reasons.
First, it highlights the failure of the “reset” policy, which was driven by the political self-serving and strategically naïve assumption that strained relations with geopolitical rivals was solely the fault of the asserting posture of the Bush administration.
Second, the President’s dogged persistence in offering new concessions to the Russians even as he knew they were breaking the 1987 treaty undercuts his promises to enforce a nuclear deal with Iran.
The Times also notes that Secretary of State John Kerry was briefed about the issue as a Senator but has not raised it with the Russians since his appointment.
There is little reason to believe that a president who rewards Russia’s treaty violations would fulfill promises in his State of the Union address to “be the first to call for more sanctions” against Iran for violations of the deal that went into effect for six months on Jan. 20. When President Obama says he is “ready to exercise all options,” he evidently means to include further concessions to Iran.
What a miserable loser we have for a President, both domestic and foreign policy stinks.
