Friday Bits and Pieces

Happy Valentine’s Day Little Birdies!

For the past five years the left couldn’t find one thing wrong with anything BO was doing. We were all “racist haters” denying the Preezy his full due. When we refused to go along to get along, we were vilified. Well, funny how it’s all beginning to change. ‘The Thing Speaks for Itself’

Legal scholar Turley now feels that it is incumbent upon him to appear on TheKelly File with Megyn Kelly to point out a minor detail that the “fundamental transformer” would probably be flattered to hear, which is that “the framers would be horrified because everything they did was to create balance between the branches of government, and we’ve lost that.”

Turley’s forewarning: “What we’re seeing now is the usurpation of authority that’s unprecedented in this country.”

The Tired Ones are admitting it is getting harder to “defend” Obamacare. Question of the day; Why do they feel the need to defend it anyway? If the law is so great it doesn’t need any defense from the left wing media. Their statements only prove what we have been saying for years, the LSM is definitely in the tank for whatever BO ‘decides’ is “fair and right”. Talk about belonging to a “cult of personality”. Giving a pass to the mess known as Obamacare because…..Obama!

Advocates for a strong executive branch, including me, have given the White House a pass on its rule-making authority, because implementing such a complicated law requires flexibility. But the law may be getting stretched to the point of breaking. Think of the ACA as a game of Jenga: Adjust one piece and the rest are affected; adjust too many and it falls.

If not illegal, the changes are fueling suspicion among Obama-loathing conservatives, and confusion among the rest of us. Even the law’s most fervent supporters are frustrated.

Speaking of ‘usurping authority’, IRS ObamaCare “self-attestation” for businesses: adding irrationality to lawlessness. BO just making it up on a daily whim. “I’m the President. I can do anything I want”.

In other words, the legal justification for this “self-attestation” springs from an illegal action by the Obama administration, as a means to include the company in the increasingly-arbitrary application of regulation based on ignoring the statutes of the law itself. It’s lawless lunacy, certainly. But as I argued in my column, that’s precisely the outcome predicted by Hayek in The Road to Serfdom.

Obama terrified me from the very beginning of his run for the Presidency. he made no sense, his speeches were filled with nonsense, he self glorified, the adulation for him as a candidate was insane (and still is). Obama’s cult of personality has turned US into ‘a nation of enablers’

It’s been apparent from the moment Obama claimed what he called a “historic” Democratic nomination victory in a June 3, 2008, speech in St. Paul, Minn., when he said that “this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our Image as the last, best hope on Earth.”

The cult of Obama adoration has since become so unbearable the White House press corps revolted last year, denouncing the government-funded propaganda that puts the president front and center into everything, even celebrations of pivotal historical events such as the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy‘s assassination.

It’s gotten to the point where it’s moved beyond ridicule into self-parody.

Never thought I would agree with the Iranians on anything…. Mocking Obama

So this is my foreign policy advice to the Americans when dealing with Iran: First of all, Mr. Obama, don’t waste a ton of bricks. I sense a personal problem here… Instead of wasting a ton of bricks, take just one brick, and knock it against your head. Perhaps parts of his brain will swap places, and his perspective will change.

BO should be impeached….his lawlessness and disregard for the Constitution is a price none of us, Dems or Repubs, should tolerate. Democrats had better think long and hard, they won’t be the “majority” forever. BO has set a precedent neither party should go along with just to get along.

  1. In politics, of course, Left and Right, conservative and liberal, make up stuff. But Orwell, who also blasted the rise of European fascism, focused more on the mind games of the statist Left.

Why? He apparently feared that the Left suffered an additional wage of hypocrisy in more openly proclaiming the noble interests of “the people.” Because of those supposedly exalted ends of equality and fairness, statists were more likely to get a pass from the media and public for the scary means they employed to achieve them.

  2. Happy Valentines Day to all the birdies…those that stop for a bit, as well as those that fly through. A special Happy V-Day to Lynn for her hard work here…Chocolate dipped strawberries for all!!!

    • Got mine at 9:00 AM….chocolate covered grapes too… YUM!!! 😀

    • and, thank you for your support…..

I am more then sure the WONs will manage to tie up traffic for a huge number of people today who want to celebrate the day of love

    • I got a fruit plate, one of those platters you take to parties. I’m kinda glad, because I don’t know if I could cotton to the idea of chocolate covered cantaloupe.

  3. FCC beaten back by a blog and letter from the GOP……shades of Pravda

But the same press that carried Obama into the White House on its shoulders (twice, while asking nary a question) seems to have developed a case of beaten-wife syndrome. The administration disrespects them, considers charging them with espionage for doing their jobs, spies on their peeps, and they barely manage an objection through their pleading eyes or trembling lips.

Fortunately, the FCC is now backing off. The headline at AdWeek: FCC Backs Off Study of Newsroom Editorial Practices; GOP said study violated freedom of the press

The Federal Communications Commission is quietly changing course on a controversial study after parts of the methodology were roundly criticized by GOP lawmakers and commissioner Ajit Pai for encroaching into editorial decisions and content at TV stations. . .Regardless of the study’s intent, it’s hard to fathom why the FCC sent its minions into newsrooms of the stations it licenses and ask questions about how stations exercise their First Amendment right.

  4. Planned Parenthood Pays $2 Million for Wrongful Death, Press Ignores….a botched abortion, perforated uterus, left to bleed for 5 hours by “Planned Parenthood” in the unregulated state of Ill, 24 years old with a 3 year old son….and they keep saying this is women’s healthcare…..just bizarre. One would think after the horrors of Gosnell (convicted of murder) regulation of the “industry” would be welcome. Not!

  5. Common sense move for workers….

The rejection of a key Democratic Party ally occurred despite President Barack Obama’s personal support for the unionization drive. Tennessee Republicans “are more concerned about German shareholders than American workers,” Obama said shortly before American workers shot down the unionization bid, according to the Detroit Free Press.

“The workers at Volkswagen looked at the history of this union and made the best decision for themselves, their jobs and their community,” he said in a statement. “In spite of the UAW’s multi-million dollar propaganda machine, and with company and government officials at Obama’s NLRB aiding the union in every possible way, workers learned the facts and were able to make an informed decision.”

Union organizers and other supporters were granted access to the plant in the weeks leading up to the election, while VW rejected a petition from employees to allow union opponents to present their case.

  6. It won’t go away….not ever……she lied to cover her a**

OPSEC will release a new report this week that is critical of Hillary Clinton’s role in Benghazi, Reuters reports.

The OPSEC (military slang for “operational security”) report says Clinton made crucial choices during the attack on Benghazi, which enabled the attack. [snip]

The group charges Clinton with failing to ask the Pentagon and spy agencies to help U.S. personnel besieged in Benghazi and with not discussing the attack with President Barack Obama until more than six hours after it started. They also say she was not candid in her own accounts of what happened.

The report, entitled “Breach of Duty: Hillary Clinton and Catastrophic Failure in Benghazi,” says that due to a lack of due diligence by Congress, the “full story about Hillary Clinton’s deadly failure of leadership may never be completely told.” It calls for a special congressional investigation of the affair.
