Well said, General Kelley, well said…General: Millennial Marines Reject Culture of Self Absorption
“This is not a criticism, but those with less of a sense of service to the nation will never understand it when men and women of character step forward and look danger and adversity straight in the eye, and refuse to blink or give ground even to their own deaths,” said Marine Gen. John F. Kelly, a former enlisted man who rose to the armed forces’ rarefied air as head of U.S. Southern Command.
“The protected can’t begin to understand the price paid so they and their families can sleep safe and free at night. What they are missing, what they will also never understand, is the sense of commitment, joy, and honor of serving one’s country in uniform,” Gen. Kelly said Saturday at the New York City Leatherneck Celebration Ball.
BO thinks we’re “wrongheaded” by thinking, as adults, we can usually take care of ourselves. The real reason there is a problem in the first place is his misguided belief we ‘need’ the government to think for us and do for us. We need jobs, not the damned government taking care of us. Jobs would certainly make it much easier to help take care of the ones who do need help. Think of all the money rolling in and how much waste, fraud, corruption and abuse by government there is in the ‘Age of Obama’. Obama: “Wrongheaded” Americans Must Trust Government More
President Obama today said Americans had developed the “wrongheaded” view that Washington won’t look out for them, a fallacy he said was stoked by conservatives and their philosophy that says people are “on their own.”
I Don’t Need Affirmative Action. No you certainly don’t, it’s demeaning, degrading, and humiliating to think because you are a minority you are not capable. Libs refuse to acknowledge the psychological harm they are causing by insisting minorities can’t possibly be capable, need the Nanny State to run their lives and provide for them. It’s total BS.
As much as I appreciate liberals’ concern for the welfare and success of black Americans, we are not hobbling around with crippled feet. We’re smart, capable, and successful. Yes, we need opportunities, just like every American! But opportunity and racial preferences are not the same thing.
Opportunity gives a chance to a qualified, capable individual. Preference grants someone favor. I am grateful for every opportunity I have been afforded in my life, but I don’t need to be coddled as if I am unable to succeed without special attention.
