We found out from the media

Like everything else that has become a scandal for BO, the VA scandal was never on BO’s radar until the media broke the news. We either have the dumbest human being on earth as Preezy or, the biggest lying bunch of hacks in history running the WH. For a bunch of people who act like they have all the answers and know everything better than you or I, they certainly don’t seem to know much. VA scandal: DIDN’T KNOW Benghazi security: DIDN’T KNOW Fast and Furious: DIDN’T KNOW Lose your doctor: DIDN’T KNOW Bin Laden hit: MASTERMIND (Twitchy)

Democrats can dismiss Benghazi and the IRS as pseudo-scandals, maybe, but 40 veterans have died, and where has Obama been? Totally absent.

What is most surprising about the present controversy surrounding the substandard treatment at the VA, in which at least 40 veterans lost their lives while awaiting treatment, is that House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Jeff Miller (R-FL) had alerted the president to trouble nearly a year ago. In a letter dated May 21, 2013, Miller began:

Dear Mr. President: I am writing to bring to your attention an alarming pattern of serious and significant patient care issues at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs) across the country. Recent events at the Atlanta, Georgia, VAMC provide a perfect illustration of the management failures, deceptions, and lack of accountability permeating VA’s healthcare system…I believe your direct involvement and leadership is required.

So, where is BO? Attending fundraisers and golfing. Looks as if “mad as hell” means BO can schmooze, have fun, and recreate to soothe his feeeelings because ….Bush! He doesn’t want to be reminded he is CIC and is responsible to all our military, past and present, to insure they get the best of medical care after they have served our country so faithfully. This is one more scandal but, this time it will not blow over, finally a bi-partisan agreement on the horrific treatment of our Vets. BO can keep running away from this, or he can man up. Which do you think he will do?

  3. A ‘gift’ to the lawyers….the last paragraph is quite telling…

Rebounding off the NSA scandal, Podesta and Sunstein are at the tip of a burgeoning movement to regulate data security. The EU with its divisions of intellectuals and lawyers also want to put the crimp on “our bad guys”. Podesta in particular is seeking sweeping new powers to regulate data and data access. In his White House blog Podesta describes his plans:

In January, President Obama asked me to lead a wide-ranging review of “big data” and privacy—to explore how these technologies are changing our economy, our government, and our society, and to consider their implications for our personal privacy. Together with Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz, the President’s Science Advisor John Holdren, the President’s Economic Advisor Jeff Zients, and other senior officials, our review sought to understand what is genuinely new and different about big data and to consider how best to encourage the potential of these technologies while minimizing risks to privacy and core American values. …

One significant finding of our review was the potential for big data analytics to lead to discriminatory outcomes and to circumvent longstanding civil rights protections in housing, employment, credit, and the consumer marketplace. … To that end, we make six actionable policy recommendations in our report to the President … Pass National Data Breach Legislation … Expand Technical Expertise to Stop Discrimination … We also identify several broader areas ripe for further study, debate, and public engagement that, collectively, we hope will spark a national conversation about how to harness big data for the public good.

  4. POLITICO….according to their poll, BO and the Dems are in big time trouble….as they should be…welcome to reality

“Among these critical voters, Obama’s job approval is a perilous 40 percent, and nearly half say they favor outright repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Sixty percent say they believe the debate over the law is not over, compared with 39 percent who echo the president’s position and say the ACA debate has effectively concluded.

Both Obama’s job approval and the partisan ballot matchup are markedly more negative for Democrats in this poll than other national surveys — a reflection of the political reality that the midterm campaign is being fought on turf that is more challenging for Democrats than the nation as a whole.”

“Top Democratic donors say they are exasperated by a lack of leadership from the White House on policy and are questioning whether they should throw money into midterm elections they believe won’t change Washington.”
