Friday Bits and Pieces

Take a NUmberThis is an “exceptional country” filled with exceptional people who will always do the right thing, frequently at great personal cost. Standing up for our veterans by exposing the seamy side of the VA: Whistleblowers are usually at the heart of exposing a major scandal. They ought to be celebrated, not punished, for acting in the public interest.”

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) announced on Thursday that it is presently investigating allegations from 37 Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) employee whistleblowers at VA facilities in 19 states of retaliation for disclosing improper scheduling practices and other threats to patient care.

Our Veterans deserve better than to be warehoused and treated like cattle, over medicated and not treated. They are what makes us, the US, an exceptional country because they are all exceptional men and women.

Thirty years ago today, President Ronald Reagan drove home the point in one of the most revered speeches of his presidency. He chose to speak at Pointe-du-Hoc, a place where Army Rangers scaled a 100 meter cliff in order to knock out heavy artillery which was raining down a wall of fire on Utah and Omaha beaches. During President Reagan’s speech, he delivered a quote, which encompasses the magnitude of what our allied troops accomplished on June 6, 1944:

You all knew that some things are worth dying for. One’s country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it’s the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. All of you loved liberty. All of you were willing to fight tyranny, and you knew the people of your countries were behind you.

It’s time the VA got their act together and take care of our Vets in the manner they should be cared for or let them go to private hospitals and Drs. When they give so much for us, we need to give back and, as BO would say “because it’s the right thing to do.”

It’s beyond disappointing he forgot his own words. It should never have taken new legislation, that’s disgraceful.

Ethics? We don’t need no stinkin’ ethics… Democrats don’t get it but they sure are feeling it from the American public.

Democrats finally get that the problem is them

Evil Koch Brothers have done it again. Expect Reid to take to the floor of the Senate for the 135th time to rant and rave.

  3. Debbie Downer despised?

“I know personally the most-powerful players in Washington D.C. And I can tell you that Debbie Wasserman Schultz isn’t just disliked. She’s despised. She’s an irritant,” Morgan, an outspoken Orlando trial attorney, told the Miami Herald.

“Why she’s trying to undermine this amendment I don’t know,” he said. “But I’ll tell you I will never give a penny or raise a penny for the national party while she’s in leadership. And I have given and helped raise millions.”

  4. The greed and demands of Government Unions….

The National Water Center will soon open on the University campus in Tuscaloosa, after construction was completed in December 2013. The National Weather Service Employees Organization (NWSEO) has submitted a list of demands to add to the $18.8 million facility before they begin their work.

A list of “National Water Center Proposals” submitted on May 28, obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, reveal the extravagant demands made by the union.
