Lynn's Little Nest

A fine site

Life is GOOD

We have been so busy at the Victorian Homestead cleaning summer out of the yard (including the last of the garden). The Autumn Purple trees are turning and it’s just beautiful. The sun is out and, hopefully, the rains have ended for a few days. So, politics is going to take a backseat. Our baby Skyler is thriving and I wanted to share her progress with you, she had a very rough start as most of you know. Her biological parent hasn’t entered rehab yet and still shows up for visitation high. Skyler’s advocate (lawyer) has gone to court and was granted permanent custody to the state for her well being. Hopefully by July 2015 the adoption will go through. Her biological parent has three other children which have been permanently adopted by other families or placed under guardianship by the court. We have three social workers assigned to her case, ours, hers, and the bio parents’. She has a pediatrician who specializes in drug babies and he is just phenomenal.

Everyone takes care of her because she can’t self comfort yet. Thank goodness she has older brothers and a sister.

Sometimes she falls asleep in her chair. She absolutely loves it but, hates her baby swing with a passion. lol

baby 8

So many wonderful people have gifted her with so much and we are so grateful to all of you who have done that for her.

She’s ready for Halloween, sent to her by a guy on a gaming message board. She now can glo-in-the-dark.

and there are all the ‘pretties in pink’ that we love, sent by another blog friend. Her favorite toy is a monkey given to her by her youngest brother.

baby 3

She loves her hat, but not so sure about the big outdoors. baby 4 She was shocked by the immensity of it. She finally focused on something that wasn’t a face.

She is an imp and spoiled to the nth degree.  baby 7  She has come a very long way since July. From this  Phone 147

To thisbaby  We are so lucky to have her in our lives and want it to stay that way.  Your thoughts and prayers would be much appreciated as we go through the system to keep her permanently.

  1. I have two words for these women….selfish ingrates.

A lesbian couple near Uniontown, Ohio, ordered a baby, extra white, and their order got messed up — the sperm bank mistakenly gave them the product of a black man, with the result that their daughter, Payton, is half black. And that’s the problem with treating children as consumer products: You cannot send them back to the kitchen

CNBC: “[A]ccording to the latest CNBC All-America Economic survey… Just 24 percent of Americans say they are extremely or quite confident in Obama’s economic policies and goals, down from 33 percent when the question was last asked in June 2013, the previous low-point of the Obama presidency. And 44 percent of the public say they have no confidence at all in the president on the economy, tied with the prior low in August 2012.”
